Long but must read concerning SCHEMING VEDORS

So I told you guys that I had a problem with Pedestals in my mini review and that I would elaborate..here goes

First the background...
I met with Vito at Pedestals and fell in love with him. he got all my ideas on point and i felt really comfortable with him. we booked with Pedestals becasue of him. later on Vito had an accident and he was on medical leave. later on after that i found out that he no longer worked there, but Pedestals had never notified me of this..i had to call and find out myself. I got in touch with Vito and found out he worked somewhere else. now.

Long story short I asked Virgil at Pedestals if we could just have them do the ceremony instead to which he replied sure, absolutely no problem and rearranged our contract to only be for the ceremony (this sis not include bouquets)

So they were supposed to give us
- 4 all white arrangements, 2 slightly larger than the other
-petals down the sides of the aisle runner
-swag down the aisle as well as flowers for the aisle

Fast Forward to the week of the wedding, Pedestals calls me to ask me where I want the bouquets delivered, to which I replied we are not supposed to be getting bouquets from you guys...Virgil then came on the phone and told me dont worry about that Reanna she made a mistake. I said ok thats fine then I asked him what time they would be coming to the church to set up since the ceremony starts at 2pm, to which he replied 1230, 1pm.
So that was confirmed on wed or thurs before the wedding, with Virgil personally.

So here comes the good part. I'm going to copy and paste what my DOC said happened since I was not in there. so you can see it straight from someone who saw everything.

'1) they arrived late. I called them at 11am to confirm delivery; was told 1pm. At 1:15, Erica called and they told her 2pm was the delivery time, but she asked them to come sooner. At 2pm she called them and was told they were on the way... By 2:10 guests were arriving; they arrived around 2:15. By 2:35 they'd set up, but without the swag (they apparently didnt have the pins needed). Upon their exit, the left the message that the arrangements were not stable:o!
2) within 5min of their leaving the arrangement falls & breaks on stage. (mind you I was walking in to cue music.)
3) we clean up and move all arrangements to the floor.
4) ceremony began after 3pm
5) I called around 3:30, to speak with them; unresolved.'

then she told me she called Virgil that day and this is what happened...
' I actually called them on the day of your wedding (on my way to Leonards), and spoke to Virgil. I thought, since it was fresh in my mind, let me recap the situation for them. It was not met with good customer service. In short he called me a liar (said in all his years he's never had a 4' vase with water topple over without someone causing it). I explained that an entire church of people watched it happen, and that the flowers were not even within the bunch, as well as the scale of the arrangement was not appropriate for the width/circumference of the vase. He continued to say it was not his fault if the floors are uneven; that 'the bride' asked for those vases, (I replied by saying if in his professional opinion, there was a better vase option, 'is it not appropriate to reccomend the better option??'). A few more minutes of him being loud with me, I shut him up by telling him that the delivery guys told us 'please tell the bridal party that the arrangements are not stable...'. To this Virgil asks me for a name; I tell him I don't have a name, but obviously there is a record of who was driving the delivery truck; I could describe them though '

okay i dont know where to begin and whats worse here...but basically heres a recap..

-they showed up after guest started arrving to set up
-the arrangements they brought were completely wrong and not what we agreed upon
-they did not do the swag, aisle petals or flowers becasue it was too late and they were unprepared
-a freaking arrangement toppled over and broke in front of all the guests when we were about to start becasue they were all unstable!
-i never requested those particular vases, i asked to see the vases they would be on and thats what he showed me
-o and they showed up with a complete set of bouquets that we did not even pay for! which is just stupidity on their part.

We have pictures and videos to prove everything. I have been trying to get in touch with the owner but he has not been responding. I might have to get lawyers involved.

the pics below show what we ended up with. Note that they are huge compared to what they told me i would be getting which would not have been a problem except that they were ivory with pink just thrown in randomly and i wanted all white. Plus why would you set something up and leave knowing they are unstable. how unprofessional is it to come in that late to set up? So the first pic shows how it was set up. you can see how small the vases are compared to the arrangements. people said they could see them wobbling. Then the 2nd pic is what we ended up with becasue they did not want to risk the rest of them falling and just put them all on the floor.
I cannot understand how they effed up so much and of course dont want to take responsibility for anything.

I had a vision of what it would be and becasue of them it was not what it should have been. Yes everything was still beautiful but thats really not the point. As a professional company, to have messed up so badly is completely unacceptable and I dont see how they could deny that. I will keep you girls posted on what happens.

On another note, Vito and the reception arrangements were all amazing and exactly what i wanted and i wish i had just told him to do everything but I was trying to save the money we had already paid pedestals. yea that really came back to bite me in the ...

So sorry this happened. Seems like they did not handle anything properly. Unfortunately it doesnt look like they will accept responsibility either. Very unfortunate!

wow, that's terrible

it frightens me that people either have amazing or awful experiences with Pedestals (i'm using them too) ... cross your fingers for me!

oh, and good luck getting this resolved without lawyers!

Aw! Sounds like they were like chickens with their heads cutt off running around at the last min to set up. sorry!
But def seek legal actions!

Ugh that's so awful. Good thing you had a DOC so that YOU didn't have to deal with it all on your wedding day!

Seems like Pedestals fell asleep at the wheel with the setup/delivery people they hire(d).

Good I'm glad and no offense to anyone else that is booked with them. i know they've done beautiful work but when its hit or miss like this, something's definitely wrong

I am so sorry you had to deal with this on your day!

I hope someone takes responsibility to see that this does not happen to another bride.
