Changing registry (to a different store) question.
I am thinking of changing my registry from bloomingdales to Michael C. Fina because the prices for my china at Michael C. Fina are significantly cheaper. However, I know my shower invitations have already gone out and some of the items off my bloomingdales registry have been purchased. How would I let people know that my registry has changed? Would it be rude for my mom to call people and let them know?

Re: Changing registry (to a different store) question.
I am registered at Bloomingdales and Fortunoffs. Just a hint but I have heard many people with problems from Micheal C Fina - (such as things are on backorder but not notifying the buyer of that and then not letting bride and groom know it was purchased just for one example). But if you want to use them why don't you just ADD them rather than deleting one registry.
I have both - b/c Fortuoffs has everything bloomies has but better prices. They both have my Vera Wang Wedgewood china, my Waterford crystal, and my villeroy & Boch regular china - but Fortunoffs gives better prices. I have family who is from out of town who have never heard of Fortunoffs but know bloomingdales - who would prefer to shop at bloomies.
If I were you I would simply add the second place and not totally delete the first -

Re: Changing registry (to a different store) question.
I think that is what I am going to do. Bloomingdales is driving me crazy...they keep increasing their prices on a daily basis. Some of my fina china accessories (India, by Wedgewood) are almost $100 cheaper at Michael C. FIna and Fortunoffs...that is RIDICULOUS! If you are registered at Bloomies beware! I registered for a 'covered vegetable bowl' when it was in the $200 range and that was only a week ago...now it is $340!!! Compared to $238 at Michael C. Fina and Fortunoffs...does that make any sense??

Re: Changing registry (to a different store) question.
I don't know if you use the garden city store at all but they are HORRIBLE - they had a bridal show at bloomingdales. Well afterwards I got a card congradulating me on winning the grand prize (week to jamaica) WHICH I DIDN'T WIN!!!! - When I mentioned it to them - they were like oh well - no apology or anything - I have been there a few times to do things with my registry and they tell me they are too busy to help b/c they are understaffed so I should come back another day when they are less busy!... Part of the reason I stay there is b/c I have relatives in Tx, and WA, and CA who don't know fortunoffs, and a relative works for bloomies (office not sales) and will get me 20% off whatever I need and I didn't get off my registry.

Re: Changing registry (to a different store) question.
I have the same pattern as you...wedgewood india.
I registered at Fortunoff's b/c it was the cheapest from all other stores. FYI: My sister registered at Michael C. Fina's and everything was on backorder. She did not get her gifts until months later. Welcome New Vendors
