I did get BM dresses, but I let the girls pic there own & they can modify the length of the skirt if they want (within reason). The only rule was they had to be black & the same material.

I had my bridal party just wear long black dresses...just had them show up. They all had different dresses and different material. The dresses looked perfect in pictures and they can wear the dresses again.

yes, I did that...the dress was from the discount rack at Bloomingdales - it was a great price!!!I know a few people who have done this. It helps when you have a smaller party

My girlfriend had beautiful champagne BM's dresses from Ann Taylor. The only down fall is that the zipper was defective and at the wedding the teeth came apart. Thank God, I was sitting down and it was towards the end of the night! I was able to fix it. But, afterwards everyone wanted to go out so I had to go the hotel room and change. Also, you may want to consider BCBG's....they have beautiful dress. They are pricey though!

Jessica McClintock was fabulous. I chose the color and material and had them choose the style. I wanted to do all black and white Jones NY dresses from Bloomies, but thought it would look funny for a Sun. afternoon wedding in the fall. Bloomingdales and Macy's had the best selection and prices of the department stores. Jessica McClintock has a store in Roosevelt Field and is very reasonable, 4 of the 5 dresses were under $150 including tax and shipping ($8).

I told my MOH (only member of BP besides my cousin who will be a FG) to go any store she wants and get any long black dress that she likes. There is no way she can say that she'll never be able to wear that again!!

I am only having a MOH also and I'm not to keen on the fabric or the look of tradtional bridal party dresses. She is wearing a very formal gown that can be used again.

I'm doing the same as Dawnie. I told my BP to find a long black dress that they like and will wear again.Welcome New Vendors
