Number of guests question......

We only want about 130 guests, so how many people should we invite? Our minimum is 125. I know it's hard to calculate these things, but any ballpark figures?

we invited around 170 and ended up with 120 at reception.

Maybe we'll invite like 150 and have a B list. That might work. I would love it if we had 125. That would leave plenty of money leftover for a DJ, photographer, etc, so the lower the number, the better! I just don't want to be under my minimum.

hey princess...i know they say that a percentage wont show...but IMO...i wouldnt plan that way! ive heard horror stories of people that counted on no's and more people said yes..it culd put you in a sticky situation! if youre going to invite more, invite the most amount you could squeeze by with...and then maybe have your blist that you could send out with enough time. be careful!!! JMO

We also wanted about 130, with a 125 minimum. We originally invited 170, then added another 30, and had 112 show up. We got married on a holiday weekend, so we had more no's than usual. I would invite at least 150 people.

rachel keep in mind its a holiday weekend and people travel with there families im the perfect example we are inviting 235 and i will let you know how many people show we guaranteed 175 i hope we make that i have a feeling we will have about 200 people. look at julyk's wedding she was under and its the same weekend.

I'm having exactly 130 and I invited 161. Most of the declines were from people not bringing guests who were invited with them.

Rachel, since you're getting married over the holiday weekend, I suggest inviting more than 150, b/c you will have higher than normal decline rate...

We've invited about 200 or so, and only had 88 (under our minimum of 100)
