looking for a reception site
Hello,I am looking for a reception site for about 150 people. However, we are looking do have a very simple party...not the tradtional large, fancy affair. I want it to be more on the casual sideof things:
- About 3 to 4 hours time frame
-No large cocktail hour ...maybe just something simple as guests arrive- such as hordorves (sp?) passed ect.
-A buffet supper or sit down. I guess I am think of a cocktail hour as the dinner...with a few carving sations ect
-cake with a dessert and coffee hour
I have no idea where to look. If anyone has any ideas for me... I thank you in advance!

Re: looking for a reception site
Hi,Locations Magazine is an amazing resource for finding a place for a reception – and it's all online at www.locationsmagazine.com.
Probably your biggest problem will be narrowing it to just one place.
Good luck - and let me know if you need an officiant.

Re: looking for a reception site
The Setauket Neighborhood House - you can rent the facilities and have your own catererThere are many other locations like this one that you can set up any way that you want
a private restaurant
you can have a 'continuous cocktail hour' which means changing hor d'ourve trays and buffet stations - most of the catering halls offer this alternative
MANY of the 'typical' and atypical catering facilities can accomodate your requests.
or VFW halls and ELKS lodges - check Locations magazine (and of course this site)
Your requests are not at all difficult to achieve (or in any way unusual!)
