I am so confused.. these my little sisters measurements.. do they seem right to you????

I called her up and asked her dress size, but she doesnt wear dresses often. So I asked her Jean size.. she says 3.. sorta loose on her she says.

Ok. That makes sense for a 14 yr old girl right.

But to be sure I asked my Dad to take some measurements and asked her to give me her bra size. Here's what i got:

34bust, 31waist, 36hips.

She's 14 and 5 foot 6 inches tall (Big girl)

Here's the Size Chart: Bill Levkoff
3=4 BUST 33-4 WAIST 25-26 HIPS 36-37

5=6 BUST 34-5 WAIST 26-27 HIPS 37-38

7=8 BUST 35-6 WAIST 27-28 HIPS 38-39

9=10 BUST 36-7 WAIST 28-29 HIPS 39-40

11=12 BUST 37-8 WAIST 29-30 HIPS 40-41

13=14 BUST 38.5-40 WAIST 30-31.5 HIPS 41-42.5



So what size *IS* she.. Im so confused! I told my Dad to send her to a dressmaker for measurements again, cause I can't believe she slips into a size 3 jean!! she's got a bigger waist than Jim for crying out loud. Not possible.

Is this wacky or is it just me?

There is no way she is a size 3 and 31 inches at the waist. I am a size 8-10 depending and that is about my waist size.

I had SO much trouble with the Bill Levkoff size chart!

Just get a size 8 and tailor it down. That's what I did for my BMs who are usually a size 2. A size 6 probably would have worked, but we wanted to be safe.

My waist measuers a 27 and I fit into a five nicely. I would have her go to a dress maker to have her measured again. Something does not sound right!!

Did your dad measure her in the right place? The waist is one of those things that can vary depending upon where you put the tape measure. If he measured her like, below the belly button, that might be a few inches more than her real waist. Ask him to measure again, but make sure that it's right below the rib cage- at the smallest part of your waist- that's where the count the waist measurement.

Otherwise, I think that they make you go by the biggest measurement to determine size. Unless of course, the cut of your dress is different. For example, let's say that someone's measurements are a size 4 on top, but a size 8 on bottom. If the dress is cut fitted, you should buy the 8. But, if the dress has a fuller skirt, you could probably go for the 4.

Oops how can I forget...Im the Maid of honor in my best friends wedding and I just tried on my dress for the first fitting tonight. It is a Bill Levkoff size six!!! My measurements are 34-27-36. The six was almost perfect for me!!! Just had to take it in a little at the waist.


I would go with the size eight for her!!! JMO

Her measurements sound accurate - but NO WAY she's a size 3. - a 31 inch waist is probably about a size 10

The measurements could be right but if they are, she is definitely not a size 3. Have someone measure her again and then go with the biggest measurement if it's a fitted dress and with the larger of the bust or waist if it's got a fuller bottom.

You should have her measured by a dress maker to be sure. My measurements are almost identical: 34 bust, 29-30 waist, and 37 hips and I'm 5'6. I haven't been a size three since my waist was a 26. Whatever her measurements wind up being, you should order the size for her largest measurement, the rest can be taken in. You don't want the dress to be too tight around her hips/butt area.

I am 35-24-33 and I wear size 3 jeans... my dress size for wedding/BM dresses is 6.

I think i got measured at 32-25-35 and i don't always fit in a size 3

she can't be a size 3

maybe your dad can take her to a bridal shop to get measured

people measure differently because i received different measurements from two different peopel in the same place

Her measurements are bigger than mine, and I wear a 6! (I'm something like 34, 28, 37) - okay my hips are bigger but I'm not 14, lol

i dont understand any of these charts either. i wear a size 0-2 in most dresses and pants and they ordered my gown in a 10! it was huge and had to have major alterations. guess its better safe than sorry though!
i'd take her to a bridal shop to get measured since they're specialized. my friend went to just a regular tailor and the measurements were totally screwed up (she got a 16 BM dress and she's like an 8)

I think your dad's measurments are off.
I just had my 16 year old cousin measured this weekend.
The Bella size chart is similar to the Bill Levekoff, so I don't think that is the problem.

The dress size will be bigger than you expect, (use your own measurements to get an idea)
but those measurements sound too big for a size 3 jean.

I'm ordering a 10 for my cousin ( although an 8 would probably just fit), her waist is 28 inches. She says most of her clothes are mediums. She didn't tell me her jeans size, b/c
it varies depending on the brand. She's probably bewtween a 6 & 8 in regular dresses.

My guess is, based on her jeans, your sister would be a 6 in the Bill Levekoff.

I'm 36 - 26 -36 and wear a size 2 (I am also 5'6'). My weding dress and a BM dress that I ordered were botha size 6. The waist measurement seems a little off to me, maybe he measured the wrong part of her waist?
