Re: Is there a fast way to get rid of bruises?
I bruise soooo- easily. People are always noticing them and I asked my doctor and for some people as soon as you noticed the bruise (it has to be early on) you can put ice on it. I have heard massageing the area can help although I don't really know about that. for me nothing really works except the waiting game, I have anemia so its a blood thing. You should check with your doc about the anemia thing too. Iron pills sometimes can help prevent the bruising. Sorry not that much help.

No, that was a help!! I should try Iron. I bruise so easily too. Every year they check me fore anemia and leukemia. It is so aggravating. I was told that my body doesn't always make a sufficient amount of Vitamin K but there is no real way of getting enough into my body. I will definitely try the Iron pills. Figures right before the wedding I start bruising on my arms when I am wearing a sleevless dress

so I have a funny story about 'rubbing the bruise away'. I was at one of my close friends bachlorette parties and it was the end of the night and she felt sick so all of us piled out of the limo (I was the last one out) and she leaned out the door to throw up (I know gross) since I was the last one out the door I realized that the car door was about to close on the brides head so I jumped in front of it and got slammed in the arm with the door. Well needless to say I had this GIGANTIC bruise on my arm and the day of her wedding everyone kept saying to rub it out-so I did (what did I know?) not only did it grow in size but it turned purple-not bruise purple but bright lavender purple!!! it was disgusting-I put cover up over it and it just looked like a dull lavender! so all the pics of me and my FI are with my left side showing only b/c I didn't want pics with that disgusting bruise!

Re: Is there a fast way to get rid of bruises?
I always have a bruise. I went to the chiropractor and have 5 fingerprints on both my legs from where he pressed down to crack my back (it did not seem like excessive force at the time)I do gently run the bruise and the area around it and it does help. You must do it to get the blood circulating. Some say Arnica can help - I don't think it's proven but it shouldn't hurt. Ice can help but the real benefit would be if used immediately. after that - the benefit is to improve circulation.

I thought you meant the iron you use on your clothes at first.
I agre, it could be anemia or something else and maybe you should see a doc. I think its a simple blood test.

Re: Is there a fast way to get rid of bruises?
I rub mine outI got a REALLY deep and nasty one from the LIRR's double decker trains.. right on my hip. I didnt realize they had arm rests in the INSIDE seats (near the window) so I sat down hard and caught my hip.
The first two nights it SHOULD spread out. The idea of rubbing it out is to recirculate the blood in the area and remove the old blood (which makes a bruise, pooled blood). It should grow because it's spreading out that blood and trying to take it away back into your system. My bruises never last more than a week.
Rubbing does hurt a bit depending on deep it goes.. but after the first few days you should noticable see the difference in it. But you can't just rub it a little.. you need to massage it. Doing it more on areas not active, like your arms. I did it only once a night for 5 mins because i move my thigh muscle daily.
I have problems with getting rid of brusies on my lower legs *shrug*

I got this monster bruise on my leg. I did the arnica cream, it helped the bruise go away so much faster than if I just would have left it alone. You can get it in a health food store. Ask for arnica montana topical cream.
