POLL: What's the worst room you've ever seen on trading spaces?

and how would you handle yourself if it really happened to you?

My pick is the rusty wall w/ Genevive. I think I would have cursed out my neighbor on the spot!!!!

Hilde's 'Orthogonal' Room. The blue and white catastrophe.

Hilde's 'Flower' bathroom. What an *******.

Doug's 'Home Theater' and 'Pullman Car' Rooms. Totally destroyed the purpose of the room.

And any episode where Laurie PAINTS PERFECTLY BEAUITFUL WOOD AQUA, YELLOW, TEAL, OR BROWN!!!!! God this ****es me off!!

Hildi's walls of hay! She is nuts and I would slap her if she did that to my house. Also, anything by the guy that does everything so darn country (cant remember his name!) If he makes one more doll out of wooden eggs I will puke! I'm all about Vern!

My two least favorite are the room with the straw on the wall (Hildey) and the living room turned Home Theatre (Doug). The poor women stuck with the straw had a two year old, which I think is dangerous becuase I am sure whatever they used to applied is not meant to be chewed on by a child. And the home theatre was the room the family gathered in. That is the kind of room that only belongs in a house that has extra rooms to spare. Now that poor family has to sit facing forward when they all gather. Hildey and Doug don't care about how the rooms are going to be used. They rot and I wouldn't let either one near my home, if ever I can afford to buy a home

I cant remember the designer's name...she no longer is on the show...but she did this purple and white stipped room, painted the fireplace purple...and put these plaster cast hadns on the mantel. The homeonwers walked into the room and totally HATED it!! tht woman was a freak and she shold not be on a design show...her designs were too freaky for anyone!

I am really beggining to dislike the show....they are doing more and more crazy things...not stuff that I would want in my house!

I could not believe Hildy used flowers as wallpaper, also the room where she had the homeowners hand paint the walls(free form)

Oh, they have a new designer Kia I believe. She was on an army base and she redid their home using an army fatigue theme. I was like WTF they don't want to be constantly reminded that they are in the armed services.

I second that horrible flower bathroom! What the hell was that lady smoking. Yeah lets staple over a 1,000 fake flowers onto the walls. Those peole had nice cabients too and she ruined them. EWWW I would have murdered her and the neighbors!! LOL!

I hated doug's pullman car & home theater- gross.

OMG! The circus tent!! I swear I would have run outside and beat her senseless. HOW DO YOU CLEAN THAT!!! Could you imagine the dust!

I don't remember who did it, but wasn't there a room with 1 wall of moss all over it. I also agree with that bathroom
I can't stand most of Hildy and Doug's rooms.

Remember when Hildy painted and ruined someones furniture and they had to get them more and went way over budget.

I could not believe that this week she painted another chair, even after the people told her it was left to the woman that owned the house by her grandmother and she did not want it touched !

I really can't recall one room they have done on that show that I would want for my own. Hello! Circus tent!!!! What a fire trap!

Aside from any childrens room they have done - ie, the rock wall - Its okay to be a little crazy and creative with kids spaces.

I used to really look forward to watching it but mostly because it was fun to see what they would do, the before and after, and the people reactions (the one with the lady crying is priceless, doug was told not to touch the F'ing fireplace!)

But now I am addicted to HGTV and they have a couple of programs where they re-do rooms, much more realistic and actually pretty nice.

Definitely the army fatigue room, Why oh Why would you make your house like that if you were in the army! Moron!

The car room with the real cars for the kid also tops the list...how dumb !

Edited to say, wasn't there a show when Hilde spray painted a couch like bright pink? Does anyone remember that? I only saw a bit of it and not the real show!

The room DOug did with the cars was also pretty bad. The room was not that big wnd once the cars were in there there wasn't that much space. Also how are they going to get the cars out when the kid decides he doesn't want a car room anymore. I have watched While You Were Out a couple of times and they do such a better job.

My least favorite rooms have one thing in common: Hilde! and I know no one is surprised!

Flowers in my damp, humid bathroom... imaging coming home late and drunk and walking into that bathroom....

I want Hilde's job.... go to work, mess up someone's house, smile and collect my paycheck!

I agree Hildy's rooms are by far the worst.

Does anyone know if the homeowners get to pick their designer or does Trading Spaces assign them a designer?

Stacey it was the circus tent room that Hilde spray painted the couches. She's just a disaster. I wouldn't want her decorating my hamster cage.

I read an article on the show a while back. YOu only get to choose your designer if you're a celebrity and everything in the house is fair game so if you don't want it touched, you should physically remove it from your home!

I don't think I could take those chances!

Did you ever notice that no matter what color you say you don't want in your room, thats the color you end up with? I'd have to tell them I LOVE yellow - LOVE IT!! I would probably end up with a red room!

Even though he seems nice, I hate EVERY room that Frank does!! Country puke!

Hildy's moss room was pretty terrible as was Hildys room that had felt all over the walls.

But I really liked the rust wall...that was pretty cool :D

I love all of Verns stuff even though Im not really into Feng Shui layouts.
