Precana FOCUS test?

What can I expect?
Were you honest on the test? Or did you tell them what they wanted to hear?

I told them what i thought they wanted to hear. My husband told them the truth. Needless to say.... our scores came out pretty low!

We took the test and we were both honest. We scord pretty high!!! What they do is make you discuss the areas that you had different views. It is best to be honest!! Some of the questions are basic and other are ridiculus(sp?), but it wasn't that bad.

Precana FOCUS test?

We did the FOCCUS test, about 200-300 questions. We were honest with all of them. It's really a benefit to YOU thus, it's not worth lying. There's really no right or wrong answer and it does not prevent you from getting married. It's an additional requirement to pre-cana to get couples to work out their differences and have a successful marriage. After the exam you meet with a married couple as a leader to discuss the questions where you have any disagreements or conflicts with the answers and work a solution.

what is the focus test?? we are doing ours in july - they said thatey had no openings until then when we registered like 4 months ago!!

The FOCUS test is the a test the church gives you before you start Pre-Cana. I don't think all churches give it. They ask a question and you have to mark whether you agree, disagree, or are undecided. The questions are about your relationship with your fiance...

We took ours and it turns out my fiance is undecided about how my drug habit affects the relationship.!!!

I wanted to kill him...I said what drug habit??? he said, 'well you don't have one so how am I supposed to know if it affects our relationship!!!' I wanted to kill him!!!

thanks - we didn't have to take that yet - our church doesn't offer precana so we have through the diocese - hence our LONG wait....would thye have already given us the test or do they not do it for 1 day-ers???

I took the FOCUS test in January and we just got our results, we scored high! But we were also honest. The best thing to do is to be honest, it will really help find where the two of you stand in particular areas of a marriage. I'm not catholic, so this test is given in all types of churches, in fact our instructor in our class was saying that it is given in many different places (counceling, churches, etc..) They also said that if you answer the questions honestly, it has a 97% accuracy rate. I know most people think its ridiculous to take this test but I think it's a great idea. Many people now a days expect or don't expect certain things in a marriage, therefore end up in divorce, as you see. There could be a particular subject that you hadn't discussed really that could end up being a huge problem in your marriage, such as finances and budgets.
To me, I'm glad we took this test, seems that FH and I are pretty compatible!

wait we might have done it - they seperated us at the church and had us answer questions one at a time- mine took forever but he shortened it for fh - i thought we got rejected or somethign and then he said ok, you're good....maybe its their version of it then??
