'Save the Date' Cards- What do you say exactly?
First, do you get them through a catalog, or stationer? Should they match your invites? (haven`t picked mine out yet) What exactly do you say on them? I live in Cleveland, but moving to Mt. Sinai and getting married there Labor Day Weekend...Is this where you give them a list of hotels so they can make reservations? I`m clueless here...HELP!

'Save the Date' Cards- What do you say exactly?
You can make them yourself. You don't want to send them out too far in advance. I sent mine out about six months in advance because I had two cousins getting married within a few months before me. You can include the hotel info or put your phone number in case they want more info about travel arrangements. I just made up a poem that said, A wedding day is drawing near. A day for celebration and good cheer. Jeremy and Stefani will say 'I Do' On Saturday, Sept. 15 2001, it's true. We want you to be a part of our special day, So we are sending this reminder as a way, To say plesae join us, don't hesitate. Mark it on your calendar and 'Save the Date' Invitation and Details to Follow

stef28 - Beautiful Poem!
Thank you for the information. You're very creative! Would you mind terribly if I used your poem?

I love your poem too! What did you send your cards on? Did you hand write them? Did you send hotel info also? Love your web site too...how did you find the time to do that?!

Thanks!
I haven't sent them yet (planning to do so by end of this month) but Im using postcards. Im going to design the front with an engagement photo and use the poem for the back. Im using cardstore.com to make them (less than $1 each). Thanks for the compliments on my site. Im actually working on it now. And since I have limited $$$ to do my usual hobbies - I have plenty of time to do stuff like make a wedding site and come up with STD poems :)

'Save the Date' Cards- What do you say exactly?
For our STD's we decided to go with magnets - we purchased the ones that can be printed on your computer printer. So now everyone can put the magnet on the fridge and make sure that they save the date.

Yes feel free to use whatever you like. I love coming up with that stuff. I printed mine out on nice stock card paper and just put a clip art of two wedding rings tied with a ribbon. Very simple.

The magnet idea is really great and a creative way to do it yourself. We did magnets on the computer paper too for our welcome bags. We used the I LOVE NY logo and put our names and dates. It's neat to see it on guests refrigerators when we visit.

My STDs match my invites (my invite woman put them on the same card as my response cards will go) I used a poem from michele31... We are picking out tuxes, rings and flowers and so begins the official countdown of hours. Just a few months and we could not wait we want to ask you to save the date. The wedding of Erica E and John F Date Sayville, NY Formal Invitation to follow I sent a magnet also with them... Also from Michele... www.favorlady.com It was well worth the aggrevation to have her make the magnets..$30 for 80. I sent an insert with our webpage as well..since I didn't have it ready in time when the cards were printed.Welcome New Vendors
