It's fate!!!!!
Ok.......it must be fate!!!! The bridal salon in VA where I finally get to try on the Bonny dress I love is on Bonney Road.

Where did you find it!!! I could not find it any place in the city and no salon agreed to order it for me until I tried VA.
Of course, now that I got a salon in VA to order it for $50 plus $20 in shipping for delivery tomorrow, a salon in LI agreed to order it for $20. LOL
Oh well, my momand sister will get a kick out of helping me pick a dress in VA tomorrow.

Hi all,
We went to VA this weekend so FI could ask my parents to marry me. We were there all weekend but FI did not ask my dad until about 7:30 a.m. on Sunday. My dad had threatened to kill FI all weekend long and at every chance he got my dad reminded FI about all the guns in the house. LOL He does have a few of them too.
So, FI woke up at like 4 a.m. on Sunday and went down to talk to my dad at like 7:30 a.m. once he got up the courage to ask him. FI said they talked for about 2 1/2 hours and the last few minutes was when FI asked my dad if he could marry me. My dad got up right when FI said he had to ask him a very important question. My dad was in the kitchen with FI and looked around a lot. FI asked if he was looking for his gun. LOL LOL My dad is a former hunter so he keeps gun in the house and I even found one in a closet when I went to get an extra blanket.
From what I gather, it all went very well. Later when we got to breakfast (Waffle House) my dad saw a friend of his and introduced FI as his "future son-in-law"!!!! He had been introducing him as Mr. "T" all weekend - but I think he just did that to mess with FI. LOL
FI also asked my mom for her blessing and she said yes too. That was on Friday night though. He met my maternal grandmother and some of my aunts and uncles too. We hung out with my sister for a bit and her children too.
All in all it was a great weekend. I even got to meet a two of FI's nephews who also live in VA and his sister-in-law and one niece who were in town for one nephew's birthday.
I finally got to try on the Bonny dress I had been looking at for ages.
These are the pics - with close ups of the lavender beading in a few pics
Me in the Bonny Dress - in ivory though not white
It's ivory although I'd get white. Also, my sister failed to snap one part at the top right side in the back. There seems to be a gap but that is just where she forgot to snap that side.

Thank you. I really do like the dress but I would definitely get white not ivory. My mom said she would be upset if I pick ivory.
My dad is a real character. I asked him not to clean his guns in front of FI and he didn't but I know that took a lot of restraint. LOL LOL
FI said he was not scared of being shot but he was really nervous about my dad saying no. LOL LOL My dad told him he was expecting him to ask though and I think it's because I have NEVER brought any man home to meet my dad since I moved to NY in 1996. Dad met some boyfriends in high school and college but I lived at home then so there was no option.
