Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
we're doing them both---but instead of making an uncomfortable moment where the garter is put on the bo-k catcher.....we're gonna give out gift cards to the ppl who catch them!

Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
We're doing both. My family is fun and light hearted, I don't see it getting out of control. I might have to do all the women though because I"m not sure I have enough unmarried people coming! lol

Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
Hahaha I don't know how to answer the poll! We're only doing garter removal and bouquet toss. No garter toss- I'm not fond of the awkward moment of the poor garter guy putting the garter on the poor bo-k girl haha.
I have to do the garter removal because I have the perfect song- Lay Your Hands on me!! teehee! And I'm gonna wear..count 'em...three garters!! one for each sports team FH loves...just as a surprise!

We have to do both!!! I think they're fun, even though FH wants to take the garter off with his teeth

Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
I am not a fan of the garter toss, so we skipped it. Only a few people asked about it.
At my cousins wedding earlier this month, they played the Mission Impossible song when he went to retrieve the garter. LOL

Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
I am NOT a fan of either one but everyone in my family was horrified that we weren't going to have it so I asked my DJ about alternatives...We came up with instead of putting the garter back on the two will have a funny dance to Strangers in the Night....kind of for shits and giggles. I'm ok with it now...

Re: Garter Toss/Bouquet Toss Poll
I had a "fortune bouquet"...I'm Chinese and I thought it's be a cute spin on "Lucky Chinese Fortunes" as well as taking some of the tension off the unlucky gal who gets stuck getting embarrassed.
My fortune bo-k was 6 smaller bo-k's (each only had 2 roses w/ some baby's breath). I was supposed to tie a ribbon to each one with a fortune written on it, but I never got the chance to do it (running around, ran out of time!). I ended up grabbing some extra orange ribbon I had in a bag from my unity candle, then tying it around one of the bo-k handles.
I grabbed it from Martha Stewart. To get a better idea, check this link out: http://www.marthastewart.com/page.jhtml?type=content&id=channel1640&catid=cat311
The DJ made an announcement that this bo-k toss was different, and that there were 6 bo-k's. No one was realyl listening, b/c everyone just kept talking amongst themselves . when the bo-k's were caught, the DJ announced that the one holding the "red ribbon" (oh well, it was dark) was "going on to the next round". I knew that if it was someone who was single and really young (say, 10 yrs old), we'd forgoe the garter toss. Fortunately, it was my best friend from HS, who's been on and off with the same guy for 8 yrs. (another HS friend of mine).
For the garter toss, I specifically asked the DJ (while I was in the spotlight chair!) "NO TEETH!!". He was a really cool DJ and wasn't into that anyway. The garter was tossed and landed on the florr, where my cousin threw it to my little brother (ewwwww), but fortunately I yelled out my other friend's name to the DJ. The other friend was a good sport about it, even joked with the DJ ("Wow, 8 yrs huh?"). Fortunately, both HS friends were good sports about it, and the bo-k and garter toss went very well.
sry for the long post!
