what to write in thank you cards??
i am stumped already! on the inside of our card it says "thank you for your thoughtful gift & for being a part of our special day."
do i really need to write anything else? (of course to immediate family members, bridal party i will) but what about for everyone else?
help! thanks!

Re: what to write in thank you cards??
no...thats not enough...sorry to be the bearer of bad news...but people deserve a handwritten thoughtful note...
I used a formula..
1st paragraph (short ones) thank for gift (never mention money...say "generous gift") and tell the person how you will use it..."the rocking chair will look perfect in our living room" "I cannot wait to host a dinner with our new china" "we are saving up for a new house"
the 2nd paragraph thank them for coming or tell them how they were missed if they could not come...
close with thanking them again

nope sorry, not in my case.. not writing novels.. there were a couple of people who I went on to say certain little things like the examples you gave but I didn't ramble on and on....
If you're not a person of many words, don't be superficial, say what you mean and mean what you say..

Re: what to write in thank you cards??
I would write thanks you for the generous gift, thanks for coming, and how you would use the gift. Even thought it says something on the card, i don't really think it is enough. I never read the printed words, I read the ones that are handwritten. They took the time to write the check, or get a gift, give them the time of writing a proper thank you.

inside of our card it says "thank you for your thoughtful gift & for being a part of our special day."
If this is a pre-printed message in your card....no way is it enough.... You need to show you put some thought and personalization into it....
JMO
If you actually wrote those words, I would try to add a tiny bit more and then say you could get away with it....

I didn't realize it was pre-printed.. my bad.. but if you handwrite it, I think it's enough.
