Another wood floor question
We just had our floors redone and I'm going to ask the contractor who did them but what do YOU use to clean your wood floors? I want to try and take really good care of them.

Re: Another wood floor question
Yeah Murphy's oil is supposed to be the best. My mil SWEARS by it!
Oh that and orango glow or something like that.. she hasnt stopped raving about it since she discovered it a few months ago!!!
Sorry I am not more help we don't have real hardwood. We just put down the pergo flooring and home depot actually sells a special cleaner for it ( not sure if it is for real hardwood as well) and dh insists I use that stuff only

Re: Another wood floor question
We bought a wood floor cleaner spray at Home Depot and it works great with a soft sponge mop.
Also, vinegar and water cleans it well and makes it shiny. Swifter sells vinegar and water cleaning pads if you just want to do a quick cleaning.

Re: Another wood floor question
my contractor told us to never ever use murphy oil soap.
he recommeded a damp cloth, I use the dry swiffer and if it needs I got cleaning cloths for the swiffer that are wet with vinger meant specifically for wood floors.

Re: Another wood floor question
We were also instructed to avoid Murphy's Oil Soap.
Our floors get very little traffic .. basically we use a barely damp sponge.

the guys who refinished ours said NEVER use murphys oil or pledge...this creates a build up on the floor, they suggested just a dry swiffer and then mild soap and water when needed.....so far, so good on that, but i may try the vinegar someone suggested now too!
