FYI: on the Wingate Inn for blocking rooms (fixed it now, sorry!)

I just thought I'd pass along information I got from the Wingate Inn in Garden City.

To block rooms there, ask to speak to Linda in Sales, she is very nice and straightfoward in answering your questions.

I'll start by saying these rates are for May 2006.

I am blocking 10 rooms for Fri, Sat and Sun, and the normal rate is $159 per night, but they are giving us the discounted rate of $139 per night.

The way the block works, is no deposit is required but you have until 30 days prior to your check-in date for us that would be May 5, so by April 5th my guests would have had to book or the rooms that haven't been blocked yet go back into circulation and you lose the discounted rate.

They also have Junior Suites and a Grand Bridal Suite, the difference in the prices is $30, but the size of the two rooms really makes a difference. Also with the Grand Bridal Suite you get breakfast and also turn down service and champange and strawberries on your wedding night. For for a Junior Suite the rate is $299 for the Grand Bridal Suite it's $329.

Also breakfast is included for all guest in the rate.
