Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
I have a string quartet that will play as guests arrive and for the entire ceremony...
processional - pachelbel's canon d bride- joy of man's desiring (bach) candle lighting - one hand one heart (theme song from A West Side Story - it sounds so pretty in the strings) recessional - from this moment (shania twain), obviously the instrumental

Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
For BP entrance - Romanze from Mozart, for recessional, Sleeping Beauty Waltz from Tchaikovsky.
During guests entry probably Canon in D, since FH loves it, and some other classical selections.
Still deciding on what I want to use to enter. I know I don't want the traditional wedding march.

Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
Processional - Canon in D - Pachelbel
Bride's Processional - Trumpet Voluntary - Clarke
During Reading - Ave Maria (sung)
Recessional - Con Te Partiro - A. Bocelli (played in piano)
The last song made me soooo deliriously happy (it sounded heavenly) that this was my reaction!

Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
My wedding isn't until Nov. so I haven't made these decisions yet b/c I still have plenty of time...I just know I LOVE Canon in D, Trumpet Voluntary and Jesu Joy of Man's Desiring so I definitely will use all 3 at some point in the ceremony. Not sure which of the 3 is the best for me to walk in to...I think I am leaning towards Trumpet Voluntary for me. FH is Jewish so told me I am not allowed to use Here Comes the Bride. And funny b/c I am definitely using One Hand, One Heart for the lighting of the Unity Candle also...I think that's the best for that part! To walk out - recessional - I like either Hornpipe or Wedding March.

Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
We had a dj (band member actually) play music we provided on a cd the whole time. As guests were being seated we had about 1/2 an hour worth of movie soundtrack songs we picked out.. mostly from Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Braveheart, Harry Potter. All serene songs, nothing too harsh.
Processional: Grandparents/Bridal Party/Groom/Grooms Parents (it was a Jewish ceremony) - all walked down to Pachabels Canon done by London Symphony Orchestra
Bride with parents - I entered to Enya's "Only Time" - with the lyrics
Exit - Bride and Groom - Sinatra "Fly me to the Moon", then we had "Luck be a Lady" follow it for guests to exit to

While guests are being seated: "Rhapsody in Blue"
Processional (everyone except bride and father): "Visit to the Cinema" from the movie "Cinema Paradiso"
Bride and Father: "First Youth" from "Cinema Paradiso"
Exiting (for everyone): "Return to Innocence" Enigma

Re: The Official Ceremony Music Thread
WHile guests were sitting, keyboardist played standards.
Moms, BP, etc. - canon in D (this was chosen becuase my mom really wanted it, and it is pretty, done by keyboardist)
Me and my dad came down the aisle to an instrumental cover version of the Smiths song "please, please, please let me get what I want" done by the Dream Academy. If you know Ferris Bueller really well, it is the song playing in the background when they are in the art museum. I am a big Smiths fan, and the music is beautiful. A handful of people recognized that it was a Smiths song which was cool, and it was also "older relative-friendly" because it is so pretty. This was played on CD.
We recessed to the traditional "da da da-dum dum dum dum" I forget what it is called.
