Animal lovers - PLEASE READ!!!

This is a wedsite for a non-profit organization that I came accross while searching for information about puppymills. I never realize what you support when you buy a puppy from a store. PLease go to this website and find out for yourself, what puppymills are all about. They also have wonderful dogs and puppys (all purebred) for adoption that they rescued from puppymills who need loving homes. When they rescue these dogs, alot of them are in horrible shape (broken jaws, tumors, boken legs etc.) and have very expensive vet bills. You can donate money to help these dogs or you good donate items such as toys, leases, treat, blankets etc. They do not need to be new just clean. Even just spreading the information about this website and puppymills helps. Thanks!!

Thanks for this...I will be looking into getting another dog in March, and will ONLY do RESCUE! SO may-be this can be another avenue for me...THANKS!

I have a dog that I rescued from North Shore Animal League, he is a 7 lb , 8 y/o old poodle, I got him almost 2 years ago. I love NSAL because They saved my dog from a high kill shelter in VA. He needed 3 surgeries and they did that all before they put him out on the floor. I got him the day they put him out. No one understood why I got an older dog, but I really wanted to give a dog a second chance. I always hear people say they don't want to adopt an older dog, but they don't realize older dogs that you rescue, will be so thankful and they will never let you forget that. Older dogs know that you rescued them and they will be your best pets. My dog is the BEST, he was already fully trained and all he does is love me. Also, on puppymillrescue.com they have a link to hurrican Katrina pets and there is a hugh problem now with puppies over there. All the stray dogs are getting pregnant and all these sweet dogs and PUPPIES are being put to sleep everyday in these kill shelters because there is no one to take them. Maybe you can adopt from over there. When I look for another dog, I will adopt from puppymillrescue. I will adopt one and spoil it to death. Also, if you care they have all purebreds - yorkies, poodles, cain teerries, schnauzers etc. Good luck, and let me know what you decide to do.

Thanks Ladies...The dog I just put to sleep was from a Shelter 11 years ago, and the one on My avatar, I got from the NSAL last April.

I did visit the municipal shelters...that was very very hard. I also like Save A Pet In port Jeff, they will let you spend the day with a dog at home to see what kind of fit they might be. When we are ready, we will most definetaly look into all these options, most likely I will support the LOCAL shelters, I really want to help one that needs it. I will wait for the right fit to happen. I love my animals like children, and feel so lucky I have had such wonderful babies so far.

Thanks so much. I just went on puppymillrescue.com and signed up to be a foster mom. Although Im not going to want to get rid of the puppy
