WE ARE HOMEOWNERS!! Updated with recent pictures on pg 2!
I could barely contain my excitement today...we are homeowners!! God is just amazing...we really had a smooth closing, or like my sister (and RE agent said) "the smoothest loan closing ever".
So as of yesterday, it's official...we own a home!!   We never thought this would have happened, especially so young and soon after the wedding...so we are feeling very blessed.
We slept in the new house last night (on an air mattress  ) and felt insanely happy.
Thanks to those that supported me...and D and L...see ya'll soon!!

The house is in suburband Atlanta...metro ATL to be exact. South east of the city...our commute is not too bad which is rare here. 
Dina...you are so sweet...I'm sure there are many more beautiful homes...but the fact that it's ours makes it the best in the world to me and the man.

JandJ1224 - it wasn't a problem at ALL. We were both very fortunate in that we both found jobs prior to moving here and started our jobs the week of the move. We had to in our case since we bought the house with 0% down...so no job = no house. It can be done!!

I'm so happy for you..and that house..dios!!!! que linda casa!! Boy, when you get out of new york the whole world opens up to you...it's absolutely gorgeous. I can feel your happiness..I wouldn't care if I had to sleep on that air mattress for the whole year...just knowing that you own your own beautiful home is reward enough.

We are ecstatic, but owning a home, even a newer one, is A LOT of work!!  Between "touch ups", maintenance, arranging "services" (exterminator, security, landscaping, lawn care, chimney cleaner, carpet cleaner, etc.) we are tired and broke!  Thank God we put nothing down, because all the money goes in maintenance and new appliances and "things to make the house a home".
So save up to those out there looking to make the home dream a reality...because closing is just the beginning!!
Oh...and size matters!! We fell in love with this house and didn't care that it was so big (there's only 2 of us and a cat!). We just had our land surveyed and have 1/2 an acre that MUST be maintained to community and HOA standards...it's a blessing...but a huge responsibility!!
OK, done with the mini vent. I know I'm very blessed and fortunate, so no complaints here!!

I lived in an apartment for so long and moving into a house was a HUGE shock to the system. We also have a big house with quite a bit of property, which needs to be maintained to the town's satisfaction!
Gone are the days I come home from work and hit the couch! I'm always doing something "house" related now!

Thanks for posting Michelle!! I was starting to feel like I was the only one!! Free time? What's that? You mean, not everyone goes home to work?  Emptying boxes tonight, putting stuff away all week, laundry, laundry, laundry and this weekend? A thousand appointments with different companies (satellite, landscaper, fence people) and yard work...woo-hoo!!

The reward is seeing the progress you make and seeing YOUR HOME take shape and become your own. We're a long way away from that, I moved into the house in August when we closed, DH moved in after the wedding but all his "stuff" (I'm not allowed to call it the OTHER "S" word!) didn't come until February, so boxes boxes everywhere! But I love when I finish a room and it's MINE!
