Disney World Honeymoon: FH's birthday night

Well, by that time, he'll be my husband!

I would like to plan something really nice for my then-hubby the night of our honeymoon. We're going 11/13-11/19... his b-day is on that Friday night (11/17). What would you recommend I book for the night of his birthday?

I was thinking Le Cellier Steakhouse, which I hear would have a nice view of the fireworks. And I can tell them it's his birthday so they have do a specialty cake.

What do you think? I'm not a big Disney person, so any advice would be great.

My FH is not as big of a fan of dining out as I am... he'd probably love to just stay in and get room service. I want to do something that he would like, but I would like it to be special. I do plan on doing a "room service" night, but not necessarily on his b-day.

I already have Dinner in the Cinderella Castle reserved for the Wednesday night - and swimming with the Dolphins for Thursday morning.

Thank you!

you could have them set up dinner(fancy) in your room w/ candels and whole 9 yards not just room service

oh yeah? They'll do that? I LOVE that idea!!!!!!! Who should I ask... my Travel Agent or the hotel directly!? OMG! That's AWESOME! (we'll do La Cellier another night... especially since it's a french restaurant (or Canadian), and they're not too high on our list. But I hear that place is REALLY nice, so we'll go. I think the "Disney" version is okay. lol).

Thank you!

you're kidding? I thought someone said it had the BEST view! What do you recommed for a firework view for another night? And do you recommend Le Cellier anyway?

Re: Disney World Honeymoon: FH's birthday night

Is you husband at all interested in driving a race car? They have the Tom Petty driving experience there, and I'm going to suprise FH with that b/c I know he is dying to do that.

For dinner Portebella in downtown Disney is really nice, they don't take reservations though. The food is great. Also the restaurant at Epcot San Angel Inn I think in Mexico is really nice and romantic.

To see the Magic Kingdom fireworks, you can try California Grill at the Contemporary Resort, the food was delicious! Or to see the Epcot fireworks, Rose and Crown in "England" has a outside dining area... the food wasn't all that though. When you make the reservation, make sure to tell them it's his bday.

The food is good! Yummy steak and the bread sticks that they give before the meal is good too.

I agree - these are the best fireworks spots. My birthday dinner was at the contemporary when we went to disney for my birthday week last year.

The italian restaurant in epcot had AMAZING food when we went in March and a great view, if you sit outside, for the fireworks display...but make sure you make a reservation..the line to be seated without one was around the corner!!

WOW! What a rave review! I will definitely make reservations there! Thank you!

So I think we'll plan our dinners like this:

Fulton's Crab House (1st night)
Dinner with Cinderella (2nd night)
Polynesian Luau (3rd night)
La Cellier Steakhouse (4th night)
Dinner in room for FH's b-day (5th night)
Alfredo di Roma (last night)

Do you think we're missing anything? Are we making any "mistakes"?

What about the pontoon boat rides? Should we do that? Also, does Disney have anywhere onsite where we can waterski?

Are you staying at a disney hotel? We stayed at the french quarter disney hotel and they usually have water sports at their hotels. Not sure if they actually have it at the theme parks. Maybe at the water park, but we didn't get a chance to make it over there...its called Blizzard Beach.

I recommend California grill or Victoria & Alberts if you really want to splurge.

California grill gives you a view of the fireworks.

hmmmm.... maybe we should make the dinner with Cinderella a lunch thing and add Victoria and Albert's? I have heard a lot about V&A... I just forgot about it. So many restaurants! So little time!!!

Re: Disney World Honeymoon: FH's birthday night

There ARE so many restaurants..I LOVE eating in Disney!! V&A was VERY romantic & perfect for a special occasion. You even get your own personalized menus. Cali. Grill window seat is perfect for awesome food and views of the MK fireworks. At EPCOT, I would head over to France right before the fireworks, snag 2 glasses of Champagne, sip, and enjoy!! I'm so jealous....Disney is one of my most favorite places in the world....(We're vacation club owners so we get down there A LOT!)

ETA: They don't serve alcohol at Cinderella's, correct? It' s not served anywhere in the MK. JMO, but I require a glass of wine with dinner--soda or water just won't cut it for me! I'd do Cinderella's for lunch...

Sarah - I wish we were getting married the same time. I also booked the same places as your first four. We also booked the Corel Reef in Epcot as well. Try this number 407-WDW-Play. My agent told me you can book special private boat rides for the fire works on the lake by calling them. Now everyone keeps raving about Victorias & Alberts but it is $90 per person and I know FH will kill me if I booked that because I eat very little portions. LEt me know how you make out with the number.

Re: Disney World Honeymoon: FH's birthday night

i think v & a's might be more expensive than that. its the most expensive restaurant in all of disney. i'd make reservations (407 wdw dine) at rose and crown if you want views of the fireworks. ask for a table near the water. i have reservations next month at california grill for our 4 year anniversary dinner a window seat of course for the fireworks. i would recommend eating at boma at animal kingdom lodge. yes its a buffet. but its the best food you'll eat. its amazing. plus the views of akl at night, gorgeous and really romantic. coral reef is really nice. i'd eat mostly at epcot. the different worlds are great and really good food. i ate at san angel inn the mexico pavillion food. great. margaritas are awesome. i got a nice buzz going off of 1 haha. any questions u have. ask i know everything. im going in 26 days for my 4 year anniversary and im officially getting the ring then!!! be prepared for a review then!
