My grad party review (some possible shower or wedding vendors)
Review with pics
Mother Nature: A+ For my graduation ceremony we had nothing but blue skies, as soon as it was over it started to rain, but we all got lots of pics outside in the most beautiful sunshine!
David's Bridal: B- I went for a dress on Friday and my graduation was sunday. I lucked out. I found a really adorable 2 piece mix and match dress in my size and didn't need to be altered. The reason David's Bridal only gets a B- is because it's true, I did luck out. They had hardly any sizes and colors, and most of what they did have was really dirty. I got no help from staff, and I hated that everything was final sale because my mom wasn't with me, but it turned out great. I LOVE the dress!
Nordstrom (shoes): A- I bought the cutest shoes at Nordstrom. They were so incredibly helpful, even offering to bring me every white shoe in my size. The minus is because the selection of available sizes was not that good.
Dennis Rigas Floral Creations: A+ I absolutely loved the floral centerpieces. I asked for a mix of purple, pink and white, with stargazer lillies, it was absolutely beautiful and the price was right. On the day I went to order the flowers last week they gave me a purple rose and it has openned beautifully and is still alive and just absolute perfection.
Invitations (Me and Staples) A+: We bought invites from Staples and printed them on a Canon printer. They looked really professional and weren't expensive at all.
Joe Abbracciamento Restaurant A++++++: I can't rave enough about this place. It was wonderful from start to finish. The food was incredible and there was so much of it, it was like a wedding, but you wouldn't believe the price! My only complaint is that when I walked in, my flowers weren't on the tables yet and I was pretty upset, but the rest of the evening went off without a hitch. The first course was hot and cold antipasto served family style, and at my request they put the meat on a separate tray. There was so much food and so much variety, it was like a mini cocktail hour. Speaking of cocktails, we went with a full bar, and we'd pay for what was used. The bartender was adorable, and the drinks were really good. The second course was an italian salad. It was delicious. I think normally it had meat, but there are so many vegetarians that I decided to make all of the individual things meatless. Next was pasta. We picked a plain penne marinara,, and I have to tell you it was absolutely delicious. It's a family owned restaurant, even to the chef, and you can tell. The food just has that delicious home-cooked flavor. Not mass-produced at all. For the dinner, for the same price they gave us 4 choices, because I really wanted a vegetarian choice. We chose eggplant parm, salmon teriyaki, chicken marsala and and prime rib. Everyone raved about the food. The portions were huge and everything was delicious! The service was great and our maitre'd was so attentive. It was a beautiful party. I loved every minute of it!
Fortunato Bros Bakery: A- The cake was absolutely beautiful..prettier than some wedding cakes I've seen and absolutely delicious. It's not an A because they couldn't put drama masks on my cake, and that made me annoyed because this is the famous bajery that can make all kinds of fruits out of marzipan, and they couldn't draw drama masks? But the cake was beautiful and delicious!
I had a great time! I wish I could have invited some of my LIF gals, but my family is so big, I was worried we'd end up with too many people (a mini wedding)... I highly reccommend Joe Abbracciamento's. It's so good. I'm looking for an excuse to have another party there.
