No petal toss allowed :(

I can't throw anything after the ceremony at my church...no rice, no petals, no bird seed not even bubbles, nothing that will make anyone slip...WHAT SHOULD I DO??!!!! Anyone else have this issue? The priest said No to everything...I ran out of ideas...I saw a ribbon dancer esque thing does anyone have the info on that I think it was in Martha Stewart Weddings, but I can't find it online

I need a lot of help tonight ladies! please!

What about people ringing bells???? A friend of mine did it at her wedding and it was very cute!!!

How about releasing balloons? My cousins did that and left no mess on the church grounds.

Cute idea, but balloons don't biodegrate. When they pop the rubber falls to the ground where animals can choke on it. My elementary school used to do a big balloon release, but had to stop due to environmental concerns.

What about a dove release? (PLEASE don't use butterflies, they usually end up dieing)

I was thinking the ribbon wands in your wedding colors with white....or bells...

u could incorporate both and tie a bell on each ribbon wand so when they wave them you see the ribbon waving and hear the bell ringing

You shouldn't release balloons. I don't know if this is true but I read that when the balloons pop they fall and birds think they are food. They eat the balloons and die. I just wouldn't take any chances. But then again, i've pulled over on the Southern State to help a grasshopper of my car!

We had petals, and you know what? Most of my guests didn't know what to do with them!!

They told us that too - but then changed the rules a few months before the wedding. Sometimes it depends on who you ask.

I had my heart set on throwing them. We even offered to have someone clean them up after the toss.

oooh yeah - another thing I did was I started asking people in the rectory about it - and I got a few secretaries that said they saw petals being tossed at other weddings. That was all I had to hear. I felt really lousy to have to play "good cop bad cop" with the church - but hey - a girl only gets married once.
