Ladies... how did you deposit your gifts?

I was wondering... if people make checks payble to Mr. & Mrs. Doe, how can I deposit them into an account that does not reflect those names? Plus, we don't have a joint account yet! I don't want to leave them sitting around until after the honeymoon!

I made sure that we both signed our names in the back of each check with the account #. I verified with the bank afterwards and they said thats exactly what I needed to do. They were deposited without any problems.

since our wedding...I have been writing checks to the groom and the bride's maidan name...

I signed all the checks with maidan name-married name...and it was fine

I haven't deposited mine yet either and my guests are starting to question me as to why....but it's only been 2 weeks! How long have you waited?

Also, does anyone know if you get taxed on your wedding checks during tax time?

no tax on wedding gifts that I know of.

We deposited them into our joint account - before the wedding I signed my maiden name, after tge wedding my married name and had no problem with deposits.

same here, we both signed them, and I put my maiden name. We opened a joint account, and I just showed them my marriegae cert., and had no problem.

We had to wait about a month to deposit all our checks. And we both had to sign them. We already had a joint savings account, so I had to bring the marriage license in order to change my name.
