Name Change/Any tips?
What is the best way to notify credit card companies and everyone else who needs to know about my name change? Thanks girls.

Credit cards were easy.You just call them and they change it.

First you go to Social Security,then DMV,then you call your auto ins,call credit card companies and change your W4 and health ins and beneficiary.

Your welcome.Just make sure that you call your auto ins after you go to DMV. You have to make sure your license and registration match your car ins name.

Some companies need to see the marriage license, others didn't so check first.

FYI: When you go to dmv, make sure you have your current license, registration & title for your car.
At Social Security, make sure you have id & your marriage certificate.

I've been doing everything slowly. I first sent my marriage liscense in with the application for my new ss card - which you can get online. That was sent back around 3 weeks later. No big whoop. Next I went to the DMV - the liscence express office on 34th off 8th - took me 10 minutes! Definitely go there. Just bring the form - get it online - with you marraige liscense and old liscence and be ready to take a picture and leave - and pay $3. I got that in 2 weeks in the mail. Next I need to mail in my passport with the form, get it online, and the marraige liscense and I hear they send it back to you in a couple of weeks with an amendment for the new name. I called my Discover card and they changed it over the phone. I just have to do my bank now. It really hasn't been the nightmare I was imagining!!! Good luck!!
