Name Change
What should I change first? SS card, driver's license? I seem to remember a logistical order involved in this process, but can't remember...

I thought so. All I need to bring is the marriage license/certificate to the SS office, right? Can I do SS and driver's license all in one day?

It takes about 2 weeks for you to get the SS card and yes all you need is your marriage license which you should get about 1 week after the wedding.

I did my license first and then my social security card and then my passport last.
I brought my marriage cert. to the DMV so they had no problem with the SS card still being in my maiden name.

SS first,then drivers license & insurance.
Credit cards you can usually just get changed over the phone.

I did SS and DMV all in one day and had no problems with them. Just make sure you bring your old license as your photo ID. I brought our marriage license with us and my birth certificate just in case.

SS card then Driver's license is this order. I also went to these two offices all in one day and had no problem with either. Just waiting on line was the worst of it, you'll need a day off from your job.

You may want to do SS card first. All you would need to bring is your marriage certificate. You will then receive a piece of paper that certifies you have changed your SS card and that this letter confirms you are waiting for your actual card. Your actual card getting to you may take up to 2 weeks to get to you.
Then drivers license. You have to fill out the application and mark name change. You will then have to take a new pic and its a $5 dollar fee. You will get your old license back and an interim license with your new name on it until you get your real new license.
For bank account you need your marriage certificate.
For passport I dont know that info.
Everything else like bills, credit cards and magazine mailings you can just call and do that info over the phone.
