Had 2 cheapos at my wedding & need to vent!!

A gift is a gift and whatever someone gives is fine but at LEAST give a card NO???????

I had 2 of these instances:

One girl I know came, never gave me a card, even if was EMPTY and left to go have a 3 some with one of my other guest & his girlfriend!

Another was someone I work with & her DH, not even an empy card with well wishes or congrats inside.

PEOPLE!

I dont understand the no card thing. A gift should never be expected, but how hard is it to get or even make a card? A piece of paper folded in half with a smilie face saying good luck to the bride & groom would do.

not even a CARD!!!!!! Even if there was nothing in it, some nice words in a card would be nice!

The nerve, I really thought since one of them told me "Oh I didn't bring your gift..." I'd get something in the mail but I KNEW they wouldn't! They are not the type. I am still waiting for my shower gift. One of these ladies came, ate & left and said "I owe you your gift" and did it again at my wedding!

I had a few of those at my wedding too. Five to be exact. I did eventually receive gifts from three of them, months following the wedding. Two guests (really 3 b/c one is a couple) haven't sent anything yet...7 months later.

I just don't understand how you can go to a wedding and not give a gift?

We actually did have one guest who never gave us a card or anything.

And then on a different note - there is the famous envelope of cash from my cousin. A plain envelope with an odd amount of cash - sort of like he took some out for gas money or something - with our names on the front and love Patrick scrawled on the back. You gotta love him. But that is so him.

No, Jenn, not just you...me, too!

One friend ended up mailing us a card a few weeks after the wedding. She said they forgot to give it to us.

Two couples didn't give a card. At first I was a little angry...I'd never, ever dream of going to a wedding without a gift, much less a card.

Now that a few months have passed since our wedding, I can't help but still feeling a little hurt Like Christine said, a piece of paper with a smiley face would have done it for me.

Jen, I thought you were about to post that my hubby and I did not give you a card or a gift Your card was missing for a while and I got really upset and the BM had it in the waist of his pants I was so relieved.

What you gonna do, that's who they are. At least it wasn't family. You know my story already, so we will not rehash that

I had three! I just don't understand people and manners. We actually watched our raw footage very closely to see if these people handed a card to us when they left and we lost it - LOL. I could never imagine not bringing a card! Even if I forgot I would at least acknowledge it!!!!!

I must say that 2 of the 3 did send a gift off of my registry - one I got like a week after the honeymoon and the other like 2-3 weeks later - so maybe it will happen for you too. Those two people are loaded (one is a multi-millionaire too - and can't buy a card for the day of???) So I am only left with one outstanding. DH's co-worker who sits right next to him everyday at work!

What can you do? Feel free to vent to us!

(love the threesome story - I had a sex story too - in the handicap bathroom - not 100% confirmed though - but I think the threesome beats it)

Me too- and believe or not one was my UNCLE.. came all the way from Florida- ate dinner- left before we cut the cake- and gave no gift, no card nothing- then went the next day and got a tattoo! So it couldn't have been a no-money thing!

I got a gift when I came home from HM from someone who didn't give at my wedding but they told me they sent us something.

I also got a few gifts after HM (checks & my vaccum!) from people who could not attend!

Imagine you DO attend & give not even an empty card!

Not just you Jenn--I had several show up and not give us even a card!
The worst offender--my father gave us NOTHING. Not a penny.

at least one guest gave us $25 in a card and the Perfect pancake maker.

I considered that thoughtful because I know this one person has financial problems

Welcome to after-weddings Jenn. We had 3 couples and 1 single guest RSVP "yes" and the day before or the day of not attend the wedding. We didn't get a card or even a phone call from these people. And one of them- DH's cousin actually sent us an invite to his upcoming wedding with his REGISTRY info included in the envelope. No etiquette at all! I wouldn't attend that wedding or get them a gift! Even if you cannot afford a montary gift you can buy a small wedding gift and give a card. But to just do nothing is plain rude.

I got a No Card TOO
and it was the lady that Caught my Bouquet,
was I ****ed about that already,

my biggest pet peeve at weddings As always been when someone You dont know Catches the bouquet!!

Guess what that happened at my wedding, I would say the only person I didnt KNOW at my Wedding!
it was one of mikes dads friend, who was supposed to bring her brother for bagpipes,
well Thank Goodess I already had someone relaible for the Bagpipes,

she came late ( I think drunk) without her date and NO CARD or anything,
she is all over my video and the men.

when she caught the bouqet I walked away I was ****ed,
didnt stand around for the garter thingy,
none of the guys wanted it you can tell alot didnt get up and then mikes brother caught it a tossed it to one of mike Upsuspected (drunk) frineds,

this woman will be on my sh** list forever,
there has been always something about her I didnt like,

I did have a car worker who forgot her card and still hasnt given it to me,
but oh well
and a few that came in the mail, also forget!!

I remember a girl who came to my shower and my BP had the ladies who attended write a nice note to me with what gift they brought, so that when I was writing the TY, I would state the gift in it. She wrote on the back of her card, a lenox vase or something like that. Told me she would meet me for lunch and give it to me. Never did. Came to my wedding no card or gift either, still waiting on the shower gift too oh well, and she has not spoken to me since, I wonder why. If you did not give a gift or plan to give a gift, why make up these ridiculous stories.

Shamma I actually think that's worse than not giving a gift at all. Why tell someone you have something for them and never give it to them. Then you really look like a liar

we had 2...but got a card from one 3 months later...

the ones that p*ss me off more is the people who didn't show up...and didn't give a gift...

one coworker who did this...was told by someone that we still had to pay for her...and still no gift...
