NWR: Cruises - which line is best?

We would like to go on a cruise this year maybe to the bahamas. We have never been on a cruise. Has nayone done Carnical, Norweigen, Royal or any other that they would recommend? Too many choices!!

As long as you don't mind a bit of an older crowd (we didn't - less little kids!), Holland America was awesome for us. The food was absolutely delicious and the whole trip was so relaxing. We want to do it again!

Re: NWR: Cruises - which line is best?

I only did 2 but the best is Celebrity Cruise line! Beautiful ship and top of the lone food. It was definitely more adults then kids. Norweigen is more family friendly. Food wasn't as good but some of the resturants were cool but those are extra $$. Just be mindful you have to buy a soda or beer plan. I think water and juice are free. HTH!!

i've only been on Norwegian and i would not recommend it. the ship was great etc but i just didnt find it to be anything special and i wasnt a fane of "free style cruising".

royal caribbean and princess are a cut above everyone else

carnival, celebrity, ncl - they're all "lower grade"

that being said, i've done and loved them all!

Royal Caribbean. Been on 8 times, carnival once, celebrity once. Nothing beats Royal -even their smaller ships, the Grandeur, enchantment, navigator, explorer were amazing. I love the liberty of the seas, the oasis & allure are their 2 biggest ships. They were cool, but you will have a great time on ANY Royal Caribbean cruise.

I've been on Celebrity, holland America and Princess....I thought Holland Amaerica was the nicest but it's an older crowd, Celebrity was also nice but more of a party ship and Princess was my favorite!!

Re: NWR: Cruises - which line is best?

Hmmmm....

I've been on every cruise line a few times but Holland America and to be honest they are all good & bad for their own reasons.

My personal advice is to go on a new ship. I will never go on a ship that is more then a few years old. They are soooo outdated and not nearly as nice as the new ships. I don't really think any is a "lower grade" then the other, but generallly you will find older crowds on Celebrity and Princess. I am also not personally a fan of Carnival.

The ships I really want to go on are:
Royal Caribbean Oasis or Allure
Norweigan Epic
Any of the newest Celebrity (I know they have a few).
or Princess.

Re: NWR: Cruises - which line is best?

I loved free style cruising!!!! I went on Norweigan for the first time last summer and now even Royal has that as an option for their cruise which we chose for July.

The specialty restaurants were good!! It was only like $10 a person.
