Long Island Wedding Story #246

We were spending a perfect day together all throughout Santa Barbara. We went to the beach, the rose garden, everywhere! Unfortunately he kept getting calls from a "surfer buddy" that wouldn't stop calling. I was getting so fed up, but I didn't want to ruin the day. Finally we went back to Carpinteria(his home town) where we were staying to get ready for a nice dinner out. Somehow he convinced me that he had to "surf" before hand though. Of course he was late getting back, and as we left he said that he wanted to take some pictures before dinner near the bluffs as the sun went down. We started to walk over and as we went along the tree lined cliffside, I spotted a table set up in a perfect clearing of the trees looking out to the ocean. The table was covered with white linen and yellow roses, and all throughout there were daisies strewn in the trees. As I sat, a cheloist started to play a beautiful melody from behind the trees. We had a wonderful meal that he had brought before I arrived and just as the sun was going down he asked the cheloist to take some pictures of us standing in the clearing. Bailey noticed that I was shivering so he said; "Well before we sit back down for dessert..." he got down on one knee and proposed! I don't remember what the heck he said, but I said yes! We sat back down, and through my smile and total elation, I looked out into the ocean and a group of dolphins started to jump out of the water. What a coincidence! We cracked open a bottle of champagne, and then opened another one later with his family that night. Turns out they helped with the whole set up (they were the surfing buddy) and he had asked my parents that week before, so they were just waiting for the call. What a perfect day.
