Double The Pleasure …Double The Fun: The Benefits Of Hosting A “Wedding-Moon”

Two for one’s are gaining in popularity and they’ve even infiltrated the wedding realm with more and more couples opting for a wedding/honeymoon “all-in-one”. And, while tropical islands often top the list, there are many other romantic escapes and getaways that are equally ideal for charming ceremony and celebration of love.
Among the most amorous, “must-see” cities to be considered:
1. France/Paris: Say Oui to this sensual city of lights, couture, and culture. From cute street-side cafes to fashion fabulous store fronts along the Champs (Elysees, that is) and exquisite views of the city from some historically spectacular locations, such as Sacre-Coeur Basilica, this “sultry” city honeymooners plenty to fall in love with.
2. Venice: Nothing says amore like the ambiance of Venice and an enchanting gondola ride down the scenic streams/canals of this charismatic city. And, don’t miss the opportunity to hop on a water-bus and head to a road less traveled, landing you in the nearby islands of Murano or Burano.
3. Rome (and Florence) if you want to: These to cities offer lover more of Italy to fall in love with. Take in some of the city’s finest history by exploring the “ruins” and monuments in Rome, including the Colosseum and St. Peter’s Basillica, or enjoy a real Ren-Fest experience in Florence by immersing yourself in the art of Botticelli or Michelangelo or drinking in the beauty and grandeur of the Duomo Cathedral.
4. Home Sweet Home: Just outside your own backyard lies all the excitement you can imagine on the streets of NYC. From catching a play along the infamous streets of Broadway (and dining at one of the city’s renowned restaurants…such as Sardis. To catching some really “cool”, nouveu dining and entertainment at the South Street Seaport there are plenty of flavours for every taste. Consider going off the fast-past path, and taking a scenic stroll through Central Park, SoHo or Bryant Park. For those more “adventurous” in spirit…try walking across the Brooklyn Bridge and enjoying the views from the promenade or hitting the Brooklyn pier for some authentic pizza.
5. Head to Hawaii: All the island are EXTRAORDINARY…but for just the right mix of romance and fun, Honolulu is the “it” spot for “fun-loving” lovers. Sparkling blue waters and a thriving and thrilling nightlife, and sumptuously exotic foods to compliment the equally exotic scenery, this is truly one of the most amazing islands you will ever set your eyes on.
6. Basque in the beauty of Barcelona: This historic city features marvelous architectural structures designed by Antoni Gaudi, including the basiclica Sagrada Familia (his most popular unfinished work). Not to mention that Barcelona also offers a delicious array of boutiques, shops, and cafes along the popular streets of Las Ramblas.
7. Go ahead…leave your heart in San Francisco: Divas dudes will catch a wave and enjoy a relaxing, easy-going vibe in this city. Do all the touristy things including shopping along Union street or head to the picturesque Angel Island or the Alcatraz or the San Francisco Bay.
8. Meander around Vienna: With streets constructed in circles, this city makes romantic strolls part of its “inherent culture”. Grab a bit at one of the many “tiny” cafes and tickle your taste buds with an authentic weiner schnitzel. Remember this is the hometown of Mozart, so consider catching a performance by the Vienna Philharmonic.
9. Take a “royal” vacation: Pay a visit to the Queen or at least to her hometown of London. Take in the vast variety of culture including museums, galleries and the Shakespeare Globe Theater, while also enjoying a leisurely afternoon tea (and some finger sandwiches).
