Bridal Expo - Monday 1/24

Hi Ladies;

Just an FYI - There is a bridal expo at the Marriott in Hauppauge/Islandia? on Monday. I believe it starts at 7pm. No charge on this one.

Boy does it sound like we have similair taste LOL I got them at FantasyLand in Patchogue. There are different price ranges depending on what kind of stem you want. I think mine were less than $1 because I decorated them myself. You should take a ride out there, they would definitely have frames too. I planned half of my wedding from that place! Gina :)

Bridal Expo - Monday 1/24

excuse my ignorance, but why do they charge $5-$7 to attend a bridal expo? isnt this suppose to be so you, the bride & groome, can pick out a vendor? why then would i want to pay to view vendors? i have never been to one that i had to pay for, so please let me know what you are paying for.

Does anyone have any good advice about buying furniture? Where have you guys gone and how far in advance before the wedding? Does anyone know about wood laminents as an alternative to pure wood (which can be very expensive)? Also, does anyone have any advice about what items are crucial on a registry, so I don't overlook anything (aside from the standard dishes and towels)? Thanks so much for any input you can give me!

Same 2 crews shooting the group shots and those of rob & I together.

The one I went to you pay to get a booklet of lables with your name & info on them. I don't know about anyone else, but I found the bridal expos a HUGE rip off and waste of time. I went to one, The Great Bridal Expo, with my fiance in NYC and left after an hour. All I got out of it is a bunch of junk mail and phone calls during dinner.

actually, at the end of the day, we only had 4 favors left over (we sent a few home with family members to give to those who could not attend). so I gave the extras to my family members who planned the day!

Bridal Expo - Monday 1/24

Hi Ladies: It is ridiculous for us to have to pay to go to a bridal expo. They are setting it up with the hopes of helping us and selling their services to US! When they charge to get in, they make money. The GREAT Bridal Expo is a big scam, I believe. I paid 16.00 for stickers with my name on it and I recieved a call from a vacation place that said I won a vacation to Orlando and then a cruise to the Bahamas with a 3 night stay, and then to Hilton Head. You should see the places they want us to stay. They are dirty and have no activities, as well as, the reviews on these places are that they are run-of-the mill hotels with no excitement. My travel agent told me the cruise boat is one of the oldest ships and not very safe. Needless to say, I was supposed to get this big package of info in the mail, and 4 weeks later, I never got it. Can't stand them!

i don't know how helpful my response is since I can't give you any names b/c I don't know of any, but you might want to try some of the resorts further out east on the Island. My best friend got married in Maine on a Sunday at a resort and made it a weekend affair. Guests arrived Friday nite and we bowled that nite, played golf, went boating, shopping, etc. on Saturday, and the happy couple got married the following day. We got the rooms at a really cheap rate b/c so many of us were spending the weekend there (a sort of mini-vacation). It was FANTASTIC!
