Bridesmaid colors

Does anyone have a suggestion for bridesmaid colors? My dress has a platinum (a.k.a shiny bluisn-gray) trim and is mostly white. I want a color that doesn't clash with my dress, but will not look washed out in pictures as I think gray might. The problem is that I don't know the exact color of my dress until 1 month before the wedding when it comes in. My flowers are just daisies (which I'm dead-set on) so I feel there needs to be color. It's a May 2000 wedding. Thanks for your help!

I really need a make-up person to come to my home May 26th, 2000. My photographer needs us ready at 10:30AM UGH! We will probably do make-up first at about ??????Time. We need to go up the street to get our hair done and be back by 10:30am for the photographer

When calculating times, I work backwards. For example, in your case, start with the time you want to arrive at the ceremony site and then estimate the time of each task backwards. Deduct the travel time, time for pictures, make-up, hair, getting dressed etc. When you are done you will have arrived at the time you should begin getting ready. (Then add 1/2 hour for any delays that may occur.) It works for me.

Jenny, is it possible to ask your bridal shop for a swatch (fabric sample)? This way, you can have an exact color to match or compare instead of just remembering what it looks like.

As for the bridesmaids dresses, I think navy blue would look good with the platnum trim and the daisies. Just my thought :-)

I wore a navy dress (crepe-like fabric, umpire waist, sleeveless, from David's bridal) in a wedding last summer, and the color was nice on our very pale skin.

Our wedding is also in May 2000. I chose a periwinkle color (it's a lavander & lt. blue mix)It has an opalescent sheen to it. The girls are wearing silver shoes. This color might go with your dress. I wanted to stick with the spring colors, but I have been to many weddings in the spring and summer months and the girls are wearing navy and dark colors. But it's your choice. Good Luck

That sounds really pretty...where did your girls get it? Is it a specific designer?

Have you tried any of these?

The designer is watters & watters too. I think there website is www.wtoo.com. We got them from Macy's at the smithhaven mall. It's a tank style top with scrunched up material around the chest and the straps on the dress are twisted up, it's kind of form fitting. The opalescent look, is from the overlay material which I think is organza or some kind of shimmery material. It's beautiful dress and they can definetly wear it again. I actually bought a dress similiar to it, in black. Good Luck.

I have the information at home so I'll post it over the weekend. Since we're having 2 officiants, each one has a fee. If I remember correctly, they each charge about $500. No extras for travelling etc.

more on the Wtoo dress

It's on the website and it's style #236. You may be able to get any style dress in the same color.

I'm having Celebrity Music for my wedding too. Jay Letterman (he does a show at night on WALK-FM is great. He has a website at www.celebmusic.com where you can e-mail him your details and get a quote. Or you can call.

Good Luck!
