Newly Engaged & Overwhelmed

I've been engaged for a month now and I'm so excited and so overwhelmed! (As I'm sure most of you were/are.) Long Island has my heart, I couldn't imagine getting married anywhere else from where I grew up.

What's the most helpful thing you've done or are doing to make your wedding planning run smoothly?

Does anyone have input on the any of the following venues and quotes? Thank you so much in advance :)

1. Glen Cove Mansion
2. The Carltun
3. Westbury Manor
4. Fox Hollow
5. Riviera at Massapequa
6. Vanderbilt Museum

Re: Newly Engaged & Overwhelmed

My fiancee + I were recently at Fox Hollow.

Fox Hollow quoted us at $115 pp (Friday) September 1st and $135 pp (Saturday) November 4th -
2017... We pushed back the wedding for October 2018 and the price did go up $142 pp (Saturday)

Hope this helps.

RE:Newly Engaged & Overwhelmed

I can tell you from a guests experience that the Fox hollow has terrible food.  Cocktail hour was ok.  Dinner was horrible.  I've been to two weddings there and the experience was the same for both as far as food.  The bartenders were rude as well.

If you have quotes from Glen Cove Mansion and Westbury Manor, will you please send them to me? Thank you!

RE:Newly Engaged & Overwhelmed

see photographer that's been at all these venues. A photographer is with you from before you are dressed until the special day is ended. The photographer sees which limos are on time, which hairdressers/make-up person has you ready on time, etc. Try checking out the reviews on www.photosoftheheart.com
and especially read the review entitled BEFORE THE WEDDING.  Congratulations on your engagement. Ask about personal and special engagement photo sessions.
See engagement photos portfolio on the website.

RE:Newly Engaged & Overwhelmed

Definitely be sure to stay ontop of organizing! Set up personal appointments/times where you and your SO can review budgeting, scheduling, planning, etc. The more ontop of things you are, the easier the whole process will be. And definitely reach out to your networks for recommendations for a starting point! Best of luck :)
