Old Field Club Wedding Insights

Hi there!

In a bit of a dilemma and thought I would get in touch with some of my fellow LI brides!  I grew up on LI, but I'm currently living in Boston. Looking at venues in both Massachusetts and LI.

Anyone married/been to a wedding at Old Field Club recently? Our guest count was at about 200, but we cut down to 175 to fit into OFC's maximum of 180. We're looking into having our wedding in June 2019.

A few hesitations with having our wedding at OFC at the moment and wanted to reach out! Anyone have any insight into the following:

1) Is 180 comfortable or just bearly and going to feel tight?
2) Is the dance floor too small/hot with a bunch of people?
3) Cars driving by loud/distracting during outdoor ceremony?
4) How was the food? Cocktail hour/entrees?
5) Weird thought but since it's on the water and its the LI sound...Does it smell during low tide?
6) I know belonging to a a boat club nearby, the gnats are awful at dusk in the summer. Any problems here?
