The Metropolitan is Great !

I agree with Mark the Photogrpher,The Metropolitan has a great reputation.I have planned several business fuctions there in the past nine years and reccommended them to one of the artists in my office. She was thrilled with her wedding and her family has had several other functions there since. Working with them planning our holiday party this year has saved me alot of stress. They are a pleasure to deal with. I can't speak for anyone else but I can speak from experience; The Metropolitan is a top notch place and anyone I've reccommended hasn't been disappointed.

some advice on choosing vendors

I thought so! Thank you for the affirmation.

Everyone should remember that there are variables in every situation. Little or big glitches or miscommunications or misimpressions. That should not necessarily rule out someone with a good reputation or a generally good impression. The process is difficult, to be sure, but remember that YOUR impression is the most important. If you have a good feeling for someone then perhaps take the chance + go for it. Vendors such as The Metropolitan or Jo-Van (or myself!) are considered "high-end" because of the services we offer. We would not be in the position that we are if the random criticisms were overwhelming. Remember that people with negative experiences (which are gennerally in the minority) are alway more vocal than those with positive (which are gennerally in the majority). (This is NOT meant to minimize the negative experiences people have had.)

Anyway, good luck to all in this stressful, difficult process. I guess the best advice would be to gather all the info and feedback and proceed from your own individual heart.
