The Swan Club

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with or heard anything about receptions at the Swan Club. We have already booked the hall for next May, and recently went for the tasting. We were VERY disappointed in the quality of the food (we're talking barely edible) and are now quite worried about what to expect for the reception. Any thoughts, ideas, comments, ...please help!

However, we decided to go with Gray Studios (they are a bit more pricy than Cassarino)

> I am strongly considering using Cassarinos

The Swan Club

i have been to a wedding at the swan club and enjoyed the food and atmosphere very much. the scenery was gorgeous, and we even came close to booking them, but the only room they had available was the smaller "green colored" room and that color would just not go with our theme. the other room was great and like i said, when i ate the food... i had no complaints. hope this helps!!! good luck!

Brendan Thanks so much for the info. I am somewhat relieved by your response, but I was wondering if that experience with the Swan Club was recent. Maybe I'm being overly-anxious about this whole thing, but I am still having flashbacks from our tasting! Please, brides, I need more info...

Krista...

The wedding I attended there was almost 2 years ago and when we went there to check it out was probably close to a year ago I would say. Again, good luck to you! I hope this helped a bit more.

The Swan Club

Hi there....my sister was there this past Friday for her company Holiday Party. She works for John Hancock. She loved the food & said the place was great. She is engaged and getting married in 2001.....because of her experience, she's seriously considering the Swan Club.

I hope this helps. Good luck!

Karen, Thanks for much for the info. You are the second person from this chat board who has said positive things about the food, so maybe I should calm down a bit! All I can say is that they must serve totally different food for their events than they do for their lunch tastings (YUCK!). Thanks again, and good luck to your sister (and wish me luck too...)

Krista - I was married at the Swan Club in May 1999. When I went for the tasting,t eh food was delicious. And at the wedding, the food was excellent. My guests all said they enjoyed the food too. I hope this helps calm you. I would also call your catering manager and express your concern. Perhaps you can go for another tasting.

Dorothy, Thanks for the response...I'm beginning to think that I'm alone in my experience with the Swan Club! I think I've seen your postings before and you clearly know alot about this whole wedding planning thing, so I trust and appreciate your input. Okay, Dorothy, perhaps my wedding isn't going to be a culinary disaster and I should calm down, but I'm still going back for another tasting! thanks again, and please let me know any other tips that you might have regarding the Swan Club. Who was your banuet manager (mine is Dan Rice)? Were you pleased overall witht he service, etc. Did you have your actual ceremony there as well (we are). Sorry for the deluge of questions...

Krista - My banquet manager was Peter. I don't think I met Dan at all. Peter was wonderful the day of the wedding. And we got married there also. We took our pictures before the ceremony. It was such a gorgeous day too. We were lucky. I just loved it there! If you want to know anything else, just ask!
