TUXEDOS, has anyone looked into that yet???

I wanted to add a comment about a not so great experience I had when my fiance rented a tuxedo from Zellers. The manager was not helpful and slid a book across the counter and told me to "Pick something out". I made a handfull of hints that I am not sure, that its confusing etc etc etc, she gave no imput to help us.

So my question here is....has anyone delt with, spoken to, or been given any referals for a decent Tuxedo shop in Nassau or Suffolk county?

A friend of mine used White Tie Tuxedo in, I think bohemia or oakdale. She had no problem, I will probably use them.

I am catholic and my fiance is jewish. The reverse of your situation. Anyway, we are having a reverenend and a cantor perform our ceremony. They will be incorporating both traditions from both faiths. The reverend's name is Rev. Susan Marlan. We met with her first and liked her alot. She is an Interfaith minister and very receptive to customizing the ceremony. The cantor is somebody she recommended and has worked with many times before. Let me know if you're interested and I'll send you her number.

Good luck in your search for an officiant. We did have some difficulty. Many of the other rabbis we spoke to did not want to co-officiate a ceremony. We wanted both to be represented. But once we found Rev. Marlan things worked themseleves out.

This is going to sound....maybe uncaring, but when it comes to my fiance and his tuxedo, he is on his own. If he gets any kind of stress from it, I don't think it's such a bad thing. All of the women on this site talk about how stressed they are but we haven't heard from any men being stressed. Is it all on our shoulders? If so, let them go to the tux place and be treated rudely, or like a bankbook who wants to lose all of its money. It's pretty fair....Just a thought.

I'm having Celebrity Music for my wedding too. Jay Letterman (he does a show at night on WALK-FM is great. He has a website at www.celebmusic.com where you can e-mail him your details and get a quote. Or you can call.

Good Luck!

I don't think its uncaring at all. It is his tuxedo, afterall...shouldn't he select it? Besides, they're grown men - perfectly capable of dressing themselves.

I need a Baker/Designer to make me a stack of drums - cake in my fiance's drum set color. Any suggestions????? MY GROOMS CAKE

Good Luck!

AMEN!!! Don’t take this the wrong way, and I am not trying to offend anyone, but ladies these are our Husbands-to-be, grown men, the one day farther of our children. You should be able to trust them to pick out a tuxedo. Did he help you pick out your dress? I am very excited about the fact that I have no idea what my fiancé is wearing to the wedding, only what he has described to me. He took one of the Bridesmaids dresses, grabbed his best friend and off they went! We will both be surprised when we look down the aisle that day and see each other. Besides by letting them handle it, it is just one more thing that you can cross off you to do list!

TUXEDOS, has anyone looked into that yet???

i am also not a big fan with Zeller's tux. First off they told us that both father's would also be getting their tux free, and the day they went to pick them up they were charger full price!!! it only get's better when the groomsmen went to pick up their tux's some of them were worng. on the day of the wedding my husband was unable to take off his jacket due to the fact that it was safety pinned. everyone's button's fell off, the tux's looked great on the men but the problems with this place is endless, thank god nobody could tell that that tux's were falling off... right now i am about to sue the company because they are refusing to give us all our money back!! so my advise is don't go there ever!!!!!

Does anyone know where the bridal building in Manhattan is and where I can get a directory of all the manufacturers?? Help!!

white tie tuxedos are excellent. he has a wide range of sizes and is extremely accomodating. also if you rent three tuxedos you get one free so that helps if you have a big wedding party like i did. i reccommend them highly!

I think the wedding song list on the Home page is great! I'm curious, too, as to what other couples have chosen and why. Please share!!!

We're probably going to have Frank Sinatra's SUMMER WIND as our first dance song. He's a big Sinatra fan, and we met at a summer camp nine years ago and only saw each other during the summers the first five year (as friends)...awwwwwe...how pukey :-)

We saw Dante at the expo the other night and they definitely had a nice selection. Also, the guy at the booth was very helpful, We went down today and booked our tuxes for July and were able to try tuxes on in the store.

I wish you all the best (its not easy, i know). Let me know how you make out. :)
