Wedding consultant

I am thinking about getting a wedding consultant. I find that things are starting to spin out of control. I work full-time, law school at night and I am having Thanksgiving and Christmas at my house, AND I have to plan a wedding.

Our wedding is on September 10, 2000. I would like to have a Cinderella theme - which I find requires additional work. I would like to have a consultant to help out (since my family doesn't have the time to help me), but I am also concerned about the price, we are trying to stick to a modest budget.

Any advice or recommendations would be greatly appreciated

I didn't use a wedding planner but I've heard that they are supposed to save you enough money (through advice, connections, bargaining) to pay for thier fee.

Hey Marisol!

I am getting married Sept. 23, 2000! Congrats to you! I am thinking about hiring a wedding consultant for the day! My fiance and I are planning the wedding together and we are having a ball! However, I know that it is going to be hectic on that day. I priced a few and they seem very reasonable for one day, etc. Otherwise, they charge a percentage of the total cost of your wedding.

If you want names I can refer a few.

Ayanna I think a September wedding is great - not to cold not to hot (hopefully). However, I thought I had a lot of time to organize and I am quickly finding out that planning a wedding is a lot of work. So far I have only booked the reception. It will be a Timber Point country club. I seriously think I may need someone to help me with some of the planning or maybe just to write up some itenaries and organize everything the day of the wedding. Therefore, I would love to get those names/numbers from you.

As of right now, I called one wedding consultant and she charged a flat fee of $3500. I don't know if that is reasonable, but it seemed a bit high for my budget.
