Re: Anyone have a DIY unity candle?

buy the candles... you can hot glue the ribbon around the candles...

buy vellum and print out whatever you want on it (your monogram) and wrap that around the candle in the middle... hope that makes sense!

eta: also use some double sided tape when doing the vellum!

Re: Anyone have a DIY unity candle?

You can also attach it with small pins, not the quilting ones with the little colored balls their too long, they make really short ones, which you could use for the tapers that have a metal head that lays flat in the candle, noone would ever see it
AC Moore and Michaels both sell them oh and also Joannes. There's a Joannes in Centereach by the Walmart on Middle Country Road and also down on Sunrise Highway, I think it's in Sayville.
They all should have the ribbon as well, but Joannes doesn't carry the vellum.

Re: Anyone have a DIY unity candle?

I loved that candle too. I did my own but used doublesided tape which worked fine. Just obviously test on the vellum first (the printing) b/c when I printed on the vellum it was very light. I actually ended up using actual paper which doesn't look as nice (our candle is also frosted), but it works. Here's ours.

Re: Anyone have a DIY unity candle?

Mine is a DIY. We bought 2 taper candles for like $2. & the larger middle one for $6. Then I just decorated them with my leftover ribbon & rhinestones.

Re: Anyone have a DIY unity candle?

I made one, it is in my album. Definitely use vellum and hot glue. You'll be surprised how easy it is and how much money you will save. I bought my dripless tapers fro e-bay and the pillar from cudge.net.
