Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

Does anybody know the donation required at St. Patricks Cathedral?

Our church requires $3,000. If St. Patrick's isn't much more we might try to marry there as it's (obviously georgous) and super close to our front-running venue.

Their website has no info..Help??

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

3,000 dollars? whoaa! gotta love the catholic church. We are getting married at st.catherine of sienna in franklin square and its 400.00. I think 3,000 is really excessive

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

I think 3,000 is REDICULOUS! i was expecting something in the low to mid hundreds, not thousands.

I thought St.Patricks had a yearsssssss long wait list as well, but per my internet searching they only won't book weddings more than 6 months in advance... so there is NO wait list at all. Just first come first serve with parishioners taking priority over non-parishioners.

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

My cousin is getting married there this June. I actually have the bridal shower today and will try to find out some details - I know that they definitely are making a sizeable donation - not sure the exact amount, I'll ask my aunt if she knows. And they definitely were not on a waiting list - and the rehersal is on Friday and the wedding is on Saturday - I don't think that they would let them have the rehersal on a Thursday for whatever reason.

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

$3,000 donation is outrageous! I though $650 for St. Raymond's was a lot!

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

Wow, so one of the most famous churches in the world cost half as much as my regular (very pretty, but nothing special) Church.

It seems almost silly NOT to look into getting married there! We'd save a ton of money, and it would really be a great experience for our guests!

Thanks for the help ladies!!!!!

Re: Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

ps. I read on wedding bee that they don't do Friday Night Weddings (we were hopeing to save a little money on a Manhattan Venue by getting married on a Friday).

Does anybody know if there is any validity to this?

We really wanna get married in a church, but for that kinda money....

RE:Help--St. Patrick's Cathedral

The Jesuits are way smarter. At Saint Ignatius - a gorgeous church - they don't have a fee. They just ask for a donation for the church of 10% of what you are paying for your reception!
