Natural light, gardens, one wedding at a time venue helpHi all,
My fiancé and I have seen a bunch of venues, but are still searching for “the one.” We have a healthy budget for our ~220 person wedding, so that isn’t a constraint. What we’re looking for:
- Grounds with great gardens / flowers for ceremony and photos
- Hardwood floor, more modern ballroom — nothing too “traditional” (aka, staying away from overly gold looks and more into exposed brick, high ceilings, etc)
- Natural light in the cocktail hour and ballrooms (bonus points for indoor / outdoor cocktail hour combos)
- One event at a time
The closest two we’ve found so far are Vineyards at Aquebogue and Swan Club. However, we didn’t love that Vineyards was right on the road (could hear cars from the ceremony), and we’re afraid Swan Club will feel too “zoo-y” with multiple events at once.
We’re going to look again at places next weekend. What should be our absolute must-see locations?

RE:Natural light, gardens, one wedding at a time venue helpIt sounds like you could use the services of an event planner, as your list is pretty specific. I don’t know if it has everything you need, but look into Oheka Castle.
