Thank You Cards
I have a real fetish about sending out thank you in a timely fashion. I do no think that you should begin to enjoy the benefit of a gift without sending out a thank you first. This is just my personal opinion. I am having picture thank you done for the wedding, and am concerned about the time factor involved in sending them out. I have been to wedding where it is almost their year anniversary before they get out a thank you card, but I would say that on average I usually receive them within 6 months. personally I think that this is unacceptable. I wanted to know if anyone felt the same way? and what ideas they have to get them out quicker. My sister-in-law did regular thank you cards right away and sent out the picture thanks you about 9 months later. My photographer says that it takes about 2 -3 weeks to get the proofs back and then once I choose the shot it will only take another 7-10 days. That means that I would have them out within the month, but anything longer than that I am concerned about! Your opinions please….

You photographer should be able to give you the blank thank you cards so you can start writing them. Then you can address and stamp too. By the time you get the picture, you can just insert them and mail. (Be careful to match the right cards with envelopes!)
Picking out the picture quickly helps too!

Thank You Cards
Jamelle - I know a bride who wrote them on the plane to her honeymoon since it was a very long trip. That could save time too and help you get them out quickly.

Thanks!! that was my plan also, but I do not know how long the flight is.... I just do not want to look like one of those ungrateful brides that I have talked about in the past!! I am sure that no matter what everyone will understand if they come out a month or two later but I will not feel comfortable!!

This is a stupid question so bear with me! The thank you cards...do I order them with the invitations? or do you get them from the photographer with the photos?

Thanks Gina: I wasnt sure! But, given THAT information, I will probably take the thank you cards that my photographer provides! I certainly am paying enough for the photography - Thanks again!

Thank You Cards
I was thinking of sending a postcard as a thank you from the honeymoon (written on the plane as mentioned above), so that a timely thank you was sent. THEN, I might send the photo in my Christmas cards...which in my case, is two months later. This way, I get the initial thank you out, and I'm not rushing to pick a print and worrying and all that other hooplah. Just an idea.
