Re: Which cookware set? Cuisinart vs. Calphalon (POLL)

word of advice...

I'd avoid teflon.... not only does it wear off, limiting the pot lifespan.... it wears off INTO YOUR FOOD and apparently enters the bloodstream.... one day they'll realize this isn't safe....

get stainless steel, cast iron, or enameld pots.....

i was going to say the same thing . I would recommend the calphalon stainless steel set. its easy to make it non stick just heat a little bit of olive oil before cooking. but definately have like one small non-stick skillet for like eggs other wise its better to stick with stainless steel or cast iron

Calphalon hands down. It has aluminum lining the entire pan to make it a better conductor of heat, which is why its more expensive. Also, the handles are grommeted in, instead of screwed in so they don't come loose!

Re: Which cookware set? Cuisinart vs. Calphalon (POLL)

I'll be honest with you, I love the anonized stuff, but my mom has the stainless steel set she got for her wedding 36 years ago! I don't know if that's your preference, but I would go w/ stainless steel....lasts longer, and it's healthier. It was because of her that I changed my cookware from anonized to stainless steel. But I would think Cuisinart is better quality than Calphalon, although they seem to have better deals for your buck!....

Re: Which cookware set? Cuisinart vs. Calphalon (POLL)

I would go with anything Calphalon!
My FH is an amazing cook, and he researched our cookware for like 3 months, and he said Calphalon is the best! I on the other hand have no idea because I haven't used our cookware once!!

Re: Which cookware set? Cuisinart vs. Calphalon (POLL)

I'm a fan of stainless steel, so I registered for the Cuisinart. BUT.....If I had to choose out of your choices, I happen to like the clear covered set. So I vote #2.

i'm shocked that portjeffbride says something I was gonna say. SHOCKED!

one type of pan I've heard about is 'all clad' which combines the best of all worlds. I'm still researching which pots and pans we're registering for, as I'm a bit more of a foodie than fw.
