Weddings at Riverhead Atlantis Marine World?!?!?
Hi everyone!!My name is Nicole and I am a newbie! I got engaged last December and I am in the beginning stages of planning my March 2006 wedding!
I was wondering if you could help me out. I was wondering if anyone has had or has been to a wedding at the Riverhead Atlantis Marine World Aquarium. When I first heard that they did weddings I first thought it was a little cheesy....but now I think it is such a cool and unique idea! I actually have an apointment on Sunday to go there and talk with the Banquet Manager and all but I wanted to hear some real and personal feedback from somebody who has experienced it first hand. If anyone has any reviews I would greatley appreciate it!

It seems like a very unique and cute idea! I was actually considering it, but I know that they have limited space and limited menu selection.

Atlantis seems like a pretty cool place to have a wedding. I know the one room has the wall which is the shark tank. It was too small for me but good luck, its sounds cool. Let us know how it goes!

I think it could be really cool. You could do all kinds of marine world themes and favors, etc. Like a dolphin bottle opener which I saw at Fantasy Land, or fish place cards, or .......like a fish bowl centerpiece or table number. Oooohhh I like this!!!!!! Let me know how it goes!

Re: Weddings at Riverhead Atlantis Marine World?!?!?
I will definaltey keep you guys posted about the details if I do decide to have it there. The only thing I know so far is that anyone having a wedding or party there gets the whole entire aquarium to themselves. The tables for the reception are all throughout the circular cave like part where all the fish tanks are (for anyone who has ever been there: like where the Nemo fish are, the octopus tank, ect) you pretty much can create your own package and what you want in the menu. The banquet manager told me over the phone that I could create a package that costs $60 per person or I could go all the way up to $125 per person. But who knows! I will keep you posted!

Re: Weddings at Riverhead Atlantis Marine World?!?!?
Welcome!!!I went to a wedding there 1.5 years ago. It was okay. The ceremony took place under the shark and the guests sat in front of the gift shop (?) while the bride walked over the bridge, which was neat. The cocktail hour was situated around the circle in the middle. It was a bit awkward to not be able to see everybody, but after you were done you could stroll around the entire aquarium which was fun. The wedding took place under a white huge tent in the back. There was a lot of room and the bar was easy to get to. You could also walk around outside and see the animals. The food was not that great---I would go for a food tasting to pick out exactly what you may want. What I thought was very nice was before the ceremony they served champagne. Not sure if it matters but they do not remove any of their 'aquarium' signs i.e. prices for the aquarium and the gift shop hours. The parking was horrible!!! We had to park 3 blocks away. I am not sure what you are looking for, but I do suggest to visit a few places and if you still have your heart set on the aquarium go back with more questions. Oh, the place settings had paper napkins...Just ask as many detailed questions as possible because they aren't caterers which may mean they may not be able to provide you the quality that a reception hall could. Anyhow, use the boards as much as possible. It will help. Congrats!!!

Re: Weddings at Riverhead Atlantis Marine World?!?!?
well just got back from the wedding. They had the ceremony there, it was nice. Cocktail hour was all the way in the back. It consisted of cheese crackers, marinated veggies, mozzerella and tomatoe, and some hot hordevours. In the main dining room the B&G sat on the top level and the bottom were the guests. You could not see the dance floor from the seats. But thats no big deal. The dinner was buffet which had excellent food. The napkins were cloth. I had a blast, it was very cool. I hope this is some help. If not let me know and I will try to help some more.Welcome New Vendors
