LIW--- A+

I found the site when I was searching for RH. I am so glad that I stumbled upon it. Although it is frustrating in times when I notice posts disappear it was a great resource. It was amazing to be able to talk weddings without being criticized. But the best part of LIW is I truly made great friends. I remember when I first joined I thought everyone was crazy who had people from LIW at their wedding… Well I had 4 people from LIW at my wedding and I would not have it any other way! I know I will go through many more milestones with my LIW girls!



My Engagement

I had absolutely no idea that I was getting engaged. DH bought a brick outside of Citifield that said Mara Harvey Will You Marry Me? Amazing! The surprises did not end there. We went to dinner with all of our siblings and then we spent the night at the Waldorf Astoria. Such an amazing night.






Jewelry by Stephen - engagement ring, wedding bands and earrings -A+

I have known the owners for a long time and they are amazing. I had nothing to do with the picking out of my engagement ring but my husband told me that Stephen sat down and explained everything to him about diamonds and clarity, etc. My ring is absolutely gorgeous and would not have changed a thing.
When it came time to get rings we knew that we would be going back there. They had a great selection and he also custom makes jewelry. My husband lost a bunch of weight before the wedding and his ring was way tooo big,. They ordered a new size for him with no issues whatsoever.

My DH got my wedding gift from here as well. I was borrowing earrings for the day of. I love them so much and have not taken them off since the wedding.

For The Modern Bride- card box- F

Although the finished product was great the stress and aggregation they caused me was not worth it. I ordered (and paid for) my box in December of 2010. I was told that someone who contact me a few weeks before the wedding to go over the design and it would be shipped to me closer to the wedding. A month before the wedding I still hadn't heard from them. I emailed them and they said I would hear from them in a week or so. Two weeks out still nothing. Exactly two weeks before the wedding I posted on their Facebook page and they responded that I would hear from them that day. I got a call and explained what I wanted. She ensured me that I would have the picture of the box by Tuesday and therefore have the box by Friday (one week before the wedding). I sent them an email on Wednesday after I didn't hear anything. Apparently they were having an email issue and were waiting for me to respond to an email (which I never received). Why they did not pick up the phone I will never understand. Finally on Friday (week before the wedding) I get an email and got the box on Saturday. They did waive the shipping charge and upgrade my box from a 3 box to 4 box but that did not take away the stress that came from coming up with another option in case the box never showed up. Although they do great work, in my opinion it was not worth the aggravation! I would not recommend this company. The last thing you need is stress before your wedding.



Etsy seller- StephanieWalker11- Mrs Sweatshirt and Sweatpants and Robes for BM- A+
I didn’t want the same Mrs. ______ sweatshirt. I wanted it a little different. Those who know me know that I do not like to do the same thing as everyone else! She was fast and the quality was great. I decided I wanted to do monogramed robes for my girls. Everywhere I looked they had the waffle robes. I wanted plush robes. She had really nice ones and again was a pleasure to work with.

Etsy seller- JLDesigns718 - OOT gable boxes –A
I love the way that the ribbons for the boxes came out. We got so many compliments from our OOT guests. The only negative comment I have is that she was not very proactive with her communication. If I emailed her asking for the status of it she would respond but she would not proactively tell me things like when I would get the proof of the ribbon, etc. So not a big deal and so worth the money!

It was exactly like the picture but I think that in person it looked a little cheap looking. With that being said I would rather not spend a lot of money for something that is not seen!



123Print- Door Hangers- A
MY OOT guests LOVED this. I was walking to my room at the end of the night and people had them on their door! They came so quick and they always have coupons so you can get them pretty cheap as well.

Kim was sooo easy to work with. I got our Unity Candle pretty early in the planning. I did not want to order my memorial candle since I was superstitious. I was afraid the second I ordered it someone else would die. I wanted until about a month before the wedding and Kim was able to get it done for me. It matched perfectly with our unity candle. Definitely talk to her if you need a unity candle.





StudioRoya - Monogram, place cards, and place card holders -A+
My husband and I are huge Mets fans. We wanted to incorporate the Mets into the wedding but not look like a bar mitzah. We were able to do this first by the feel of our monogram. Roya from StudioRoya did an awesome job capturing the feeling that we were looking for. When it came time to doing our place cards and display I knew that I would go back to StudioRoya. I did Mets tickets as our placecards. Everyone loved them. For the holder, Roya made an accordion that looked like they were bleachers! They were perfect!





Theknot.com- cocktail napkins- A-
When the knot had one of their sales I ordered three different designs. They are a great detail and people thought they were cute. The one thing I hated is that you were not able to see how it would look with your information on it before you got it. I think I heard that they changed that now. They also were not the fastest with delivery so make sure you account for that when you place your order.

Vistaprint- programs, monogram stickers, cards welcoming guests- A
I went back and forth about whether I wanted programs. I did not want to spend a lot of money on them. I used the brochure on vistaprint and it came out perfect. The best part was they came already folded. I got a groupon where you spend $10 and get $50 worth of products. So for $10 or so I got my programs. Great quality and great service!

Bridal Suite of Bay Shore- wedding dress, veils, and BM dress- my dress and veils- A+, BM dress- B

First I will talk about the purchase of my dress- I worked with Mary Ellen and she was amazing. She did not rush me and helped pick out dresses which were different styles. She was not pushy at all which I loved. I know when I like something and I hate when people try to convince me to buy something. The alterations there were great. Every time I was there they did schedule too many people for alterations so make sure you leave enough time when you schedule alterations.

Bridesmaid dresses- Although I love the dress that we got my experience was not as great. The April before my wedding (1 year out) I brought 6 out of my 7 bridesmaids to go dress shopping. I knew that we were not going to order that day since I had 3 bridesmaids that were pregnant. Two of them were due to give birth by the summer so we had said come August we would order. Well we did the impossible and got all 7 girls to agree on the same dress. My bridesmaids were there from all of the country so I asked Annie who I was working with to measure them all and place it in my file. When she was almost done she said everyone can go to the front and pay 60% of the dress price for the deposit. I explained that we were not going to order the dresses today but will be doing it there in August. She still insisted that they make the deposit. I told her that no one was paying anything until the dresses were ordered. In August I went back there with one of my bridesmaids who could not get fit at the time because she was pregnant. Apparently they “lost” all of my bridesmaid sizes. I was fuming. I was very torn but I decided to still order the dresses there. I spoke with the owner and she was great. She did not try to bs me. She indicated on my chart that I would only be dealing with the owner or Mary Ellen.

Variety Music- DJ and zap photos- A+

Our MC was Ray and our DJ was Tom. Both did a fantastic job and kept the dance floor packed the entire night. We gave them some direction but basically told him that we wanted everyone to have a great time and on the dance floor. They absolutely did that. If you want a DJ that is absolutely professional and does a great job absolutely call Ray.

The zap photos were great and they looked like professional pictures. At the end of the night they gave me the CD of all the pictures. They took 245 pictures. Amazing.

Patken Photographers - photo and video- A+

Steve was our photographer and Michael was our videographer. Both did an amazing job and made us all feel completely comfortable throughout the whole day. We had a 14 person bridal party and they were definitely a crazy group and Steve and Michael handled us like champs! Words can not describe how amazing Steve is. Photography was so important to us and he nailed it. We have almost a thousand proofs to go through and choose albums. I have not seen the video yet but I am sure Michael will do an amazing job!

Steve also did our engagement pictures and they were amazing. I usually hate how pictures of me look and I loved our engagement pictures.

















Pedestal Florist- centerpieces, boutonnières and bouquets - A+

I worked with Virgil and the second that I met him I knew I had to work with him. He got me and my vision as soon as we started talking. Not many people would know what to do with 'I am having a loose Mets theme wedding but I don't want it to look like you walked into Citifield.'

My BM flowers completely exceeded my expectations. They were phenomenal and would not have changed a thing. My flowers were exactly what I wanted and I loved the blue and orange ribbon around the stems.

The centerpieces were exactly what my sample centerpiece looked like. They were extremely colorful, full and very little green (which is exactly what I wanted). They were not your typical centerpiece which is exactly what I was looking for.







Camelot Limos - limo for day of and car to airport - A

We had the 14 person Navigator. We only needed the limo to pick up the guys and drop them off at Crest Hollow and then pick up the girls and drop us off at Crest Hollow. The car was clean, driver was very friendly and on time. The only reason I gave Camelot an A instead of A+ is that there was only alittle bit of champagne left in the limo when the girls got in so no one had since not everyone could have some.



NY Digital Memories - photo booth- A+
I had met Rob at a bridal show and he was great. I was bummed that we did not think that it was in our budget. We were so excited when we were able to squeeze it in. Rob was great the day off. We had a crazy group and he was able to handle them perfectly. We got the wedding booth and it was great. I loved coming home from our honeymoon and getting all of the pictures and videos there. The fact that the booth could take videos was a HUGE plus. It was hysterical and so glad that the booth had that capability! Definitely worth the money. If you can find some room in your budget it is well worth it!

Piece of Cake Events - day of coordinator- A+
What can I say about Christine… She was absolutely amazing. One of my BM was having an issue and she was sooooooo amazing with her. She was by my side ready to help with anything the day of. She is so detail oriented and had everything covered. I am definitely a Type A personality but was comfortable when I knew that she was there helping.

Library Cafe - bridal shower- A+
My mom and sister planned my shower in the upstairs room at the Library Café. The food and service were great. I definitely recommend checking them out. They were reasonably priced and a great atmosphere

56th Fighter Group- rehearsal dinner- A
My husband and I had our first date here. We knew that we wanted to have our rehearsal dinner there. We actually went there for dinner for our anniversary and booked it. The one thing I have to say is that they were not great with communication. But as long as you stay on top of them everything is great.

Jenerations - boudoir pictures –A

My pictures are absolutely amazing. I am not a tiny girl so I was very nervous about doing them. Jen made me completely comfortable and she took the most amazing pictures. I did them with a bpic party so the price was really reasonable. I heard that she increased her prices but if you can afford it I would absolutely do them with her!









Crest Hollow Country Club- ceremony, cocktail hour and reception- Day Of- A, prior to the wedding – B

Day Of- Everything was absolutely amazing and exceeded my expectations. My matre de was Ralph and he was great. So sweet and made sure everything ran smoothly. My bridal attendant was Sandy and I was so not a fan. She was up my a** the entire night…. To the point of being annoying. There was actually a point that I had to turn around and yell at her to calm down. The bridal attendant should be calming the bride down not the other way around. But regardless my day was fantastic. There was so much food and it was all amazing. My cousins left the cocktail hour and said that has to be the dinner, right… Nope there is a whole meal in addition. As you know Crest Hollow has more than one event at a time. The day off the only time I saw other people was when they were driving me back to the building from pictures but it was so not a big deal.

Prior to the Wedding- I worked with Sharon and then 3 months before my wedding she went on a leave of absence and I worked with Helen. Helen (and Sharon) did a great job of communicating with me and the issues I had were not really coming from them but instead the hirer ups. One thing I found out is that Crest Hollow has a million and one rules. They do not tell you all of them and I found them all out throughout planning. One thing that was annoying was I feel like they nickel and dime you (I am sure all halls are the same). At our final menu meeting we found out that they only offer Bud and Coors Light as beer. DH’s friends are beer drinkers and we were concerned. I got in touch with many of you brides to find out what beers were served at your RH. Crest Hollow was the only one that only had 2 options. I spoke to Helen about it and asked for at least one more beer to be added. They would not include it and made us pay an additional $2 a person. I thought that was ridiculous but I guess there is not a lot I could do about it.







Travel Tom- A+
If you do not already have a travel agent you have to contact Travel Tom. He was amazing. He was so knowledgeable and does not bull sh*t you which I love. After we booked everything he sent me a book with all the information. It was great to have it all in one place! He was so quick getting back to us which was nice since I am sooo not a patient person! I will be definitely using him again!

Riu Palace- A+
The hotel was amazing. We loved that it was all inclusive and we did not have to worry about carrying money around. We stayed there for breakfast and lunch all the time and went out to dinner since the food in Aruba is so great! The pool was so fun and loved that it was steps from the beach. Travel Tom got us the most amazing room with an amazing view! The people varied in age but there were very few children (well there were a lot of babies who were like 6 or 7 months but that does not really affect you!).
