My Wedding Review

First, the Rehearsal Dinner at Pomodorino's in Hauppauge. I highly recommend this place, the food was excellent, the service was great, and the room we used was beautiful and private (the Garden Room) so no one bothered us.

Next, the Wedding.

The Band - Synergy Enterprises. This band is actually from New Jersey and not very well know on Long Island except for the group of us who uses them. However, I can not even tell you the number of people who kept coming up to me at the wedding asking me where I found my band and that they were great. There's really nothing more I can say, what better compliment then for people to ask you if they can use your band. My brother used this band for his wedding which is where I heard them for the first time 3 years ago, and 2 different friends of his used them before him, which is where he first saw them. They were absolutely fantastic.

Photographer and videographer - I am actually going to hold off on this until I get my proofs and video back, because I honestly can't say how good are bad they are until I see the evidence for myself. My fiancé and I loved them when we met them, and booked almost instantly, so we have high hopes, and I'll leave it at that for now.

Flowers - Spitz and Peck. Honestly, I could not have been more pleased with the flowers, they were magnificent – much more so then I could have even hoped for. They decorated the whole place (including the gazebo outside) so beautifully that the hall was completely transformed. I didn’t know it could look so beautiful. And the bouquets, they came out so gorgeous and went so well with the dresses. The service was wonderful, too. They showed up right on time (and maybe even a little early.) They made sure everything was perfect, just the way I wanted it.

Lastly, the Hamlet Wind Watch. Well, I don’t know where to begin. I had some concerns, but it couldn’t have gone better. The service was absolutely great. I am told by all of my guests that the food was marvelous, but I have to take their word for it, because I honestly (and very regretfully) did not eat much. Denise did a wonderful job of keeping everything running smoothly and if there were any problems, I didn’t know about them. We had our cocktail hour in the small room AND the restaurant (the food and some tables where set up in the restaurant, which connects to the smaller room where there were additional tables set up.) I don’t know how we would have fit in just the smaller room, which was the original plan. We were (obviously) the only people there, so all of our guests had the run of the place. We had the wall open during the reception and it worked out well, although not many people used it (since it was chilly and misty, most people used the main entrance when going to smoke cigarettes.)

My only regret – it went by TOO fast. I wish we could do it again. Everyone warned me beforehand, but I just didn’t understand. The time just flew by and before I knew it, it was ending.
