November 25th Wedding Post Hurricane Sandy - Chateau La Mer, Numas Florist, Lavender Letter, Gina Esposito, All Star Limo, Courtyard Marriott, Unlimited Entertainment, NY Facebooth,Capriccio Ensemble

LIW-A+++
I found out about this site from a friend when I was hunting for pricing for venues. This site has been a godsend. I got such wonderful advice and met some amazing people. We have shared our vents, sorrow, emotions, happy times, and excitement. I’m truly blessed to have met some amazing girls who I had the opportunity to meet at TWOTY 2012. Thank you all for your help, advice, support and encouragement.

Engagement-It was a gorgeous day so we decided to go to Atlantis Aquarium in Riverhead. We walked around the town and grabbed dinner. After a long day, we came home to unwind. As we were getting ready for bed, FH said you forgot something here. I was a bit confused but he met me on the floor on his knee and had a black box in his hand. I sat in complete utter shock and he opened the box. It was so surreal and thought I was literally in dream. I didn’t expect to be engaged until the following year so it was totally unexpected. It was the greatest day of my life!!

Bridal Shower-A
My family and bridal party threw me a surprise shower in the backyard of SIL house with my peacock theme. It was such great day and they did an amazing job.

Chateau La Mer—A+++
I saw pics on a friends FB page of CLM and I knew I wanted to get married there instantly. It was the first venue we saw and even DH fell in love. We mostly dealt with Nick who was always very responsive throughout the entire process. Weeks leading up to the wedding became hairy. Hurricane Sandy hit and for those of you who don’t know CLM is right on the water. I was in a panic after seeing the damage at Venetian. Nick did his best to keep me updated during the entire process of clean up and repair. CLM ended up suffering minor damage to their lower level and their landscaping in the back patio. Unfortunately, the palm trees did not survive but CLM had decorated with all the Christmas decorations so it definitely filled in the gaps. Thankfully we were the only wedding that day so we were able to move the ceremony to the upstairs room and change the reception to the main ballroom. The ceremony & reception space was gorgeous. The staff was amazing and our guests raved about the venue, views, and food. CLM went above and beyond for our wedding day. CLM brides you have nothing to worry about!

One side note: We actually decided to do a reveal at the beautiful Arygle Park. We originally wanted Venetian Shores but Hurricane Sandy really hit Lindenhurst hard so we had to move our reveal. The park was gorgeous and we braved the 31 degree weather like champions LOL Our reveal was perfect and we were able to enjoy ourselves and actually eat at our cocktail hr.

Ceremony-Pastor April Gismond A+++++
Pastor April was amazing!!! As the day got closer, she was in constant communication and emailed all the helpful information I needed to get my marriage license. She did an amazing job with the ceremony and spoke beautifully. Pastor April brides you have nothing to worry about!

Save the dates- VistaPrint A
These were ordered through Vistaprint. I bought a Groupon which saved me a ton of money. I was able to create a magnet from one of the postcard layouts I loved. It took about 2 weeks to get but I was super pleased with the final product.

DOJ—JC Penney A
A gift from my mom purchased at JC Penney. Since my dress was pretty elaborate she wanted something simple to complement it.

Channa Plaque/Here comes the Bride—A++++++
Love Love Love my channa plaque!! I came across this when I joined LIW so thank you ladies for pointing me in the right direction. I can’t even begin to tell you how I pleased I am with the way they both came out. I had constant communication with the vendor and they were so accommodating. I fell in love with a Here Comes the Bride sign and asked Channa if she could replicate & she said yes!!

Etsy Vendor stamp—B My CustomStamps
I wanted this for my STD’s so I ordered a monogram stamp. Vendor was a pleasure to work with and my stamp arrived in a week & half. I gave them a B b/c the stamp does smear a bit so you have to be careful.

Etsy I Do Decals—Dandeecreations A
I never saw this before until I joined LIW. I loved this idea & had to buy it since it was a great photo op. Shipped promptly & I was very happy with the product.

Etsy- Superman cufflinks— Mancornas A+
My FH loves comics and especially loves superman so I felt this was fitting. Etsy shop was easy to deal with and shipped fast. Highly recommend.

Day of Hoodie— CustomGirl B-
I knew I didn’t want to spend a lot of money my DOH so Custom Girl was having a great sale. I bought a medium and wasn’t completely in love with the fit but it did the job. Unfortunately, I don’t have a pic

Invitations—Lavender Letter A+++++
A friend recommended this vendor to me. I had such a hard time finding an invitation that was priced reasonably and fit my theme. I met with Vivian and she was a complete doll. She definitely exceeded my expectations. I got so many compliments on my invitation and I was very happy with the finished product. She also matched my table numbers to my invites which came out gorgeous. Book early bc she is very busy!!

Rings-Sammys Jewelry in Commack A
FH got my E ring here. He did such an amazing job with the help of his brother. They have some of the best prices around and we are extremely happy with the purchase. We decided to go back to them for my wedding band.

FH ring-I bought at Macys on sale. FH didn’t want anything too expensive as he hates jewelry and is afraid of losing it so I bought him a Tungsten ring. I’m happy with the final product. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture of the ring.

Etsy vendors

Ring bearer pillow, Flower girl basket and Garter -Irmart A++++++
Irma was by far my favorite vendor to work with. Her communication was great and when I had reservations about color she sent me swatches. Her orders are customizable and her final product was gorgeous. I highly recommend her. Pics of the pillow and basket are in my photo album.

Shoes-A++++ The shoes I choose are teal Badgley Miscka. I can’t remember the style name but I found them on the sale rack and they were gorgeous!!!

Veil/Hair comb- A
I bought 2 veils. My 1st veil I purchased at Priscella of Boston when they were closing their stores. I got an awesome deal BUT I went to try on my dress so my MIL could see it and it got caught on the clips that hold the dress tightly in the back. I was so pissed. Needless to say I had to go out and buy a new veil. My new veil I purchased in PR while on vacation. It was reasonably priced and slightly better then my first one. My hair comb was my something borrowed. One of my bridesmaids lent me her beautiful hair comb.

DIY-
I’m so not the DIY type but I decided to try my hand at a few projects. I basically researched online and a few LIW 2011 and 2012 brides helped me along the way. Here are the DIY items:

Bridesmaid Gifts--I made my girls cute bridesmaid tanks or sugar cookies in the shape of wedding. (Pics in my album)

Love Letter-I bought wood letters from Michaels and spray painted them.

Wine glasses-I bought them from Ikea and bought decals from Etsy (saidinstoneonline). Feathers I bought from Michaels.

Bridal Survival Kits-A fellow bride gave me her extra bags and printed out a template from wedding chicks. I bought all of the items from Harmons. Love the way they came out!!

Unity Candle-I bought the candles in Walmart and the ribbon/decorations at Michaels.

Seating Chart-A past bride on LIW emailed me the tmeplate and I just purchased the frame from Michaels.

Wedding Wands-I bought wooden dowels from Home Depot and ribbon from Joann Fabrics. These were a bit of work. My dad (god bless his soul) cut the dowels into 3 and helped me put the eye hooks in. I cut and tied the ribbons myself. Love the final product but might have bought them instead since they were a lot of work.

Fingerprint tree-I found a fingerprint tree file online and just edited the information. All the guest loved it!

Programs/Menu-I made my ceremony programs and menus on VistaPrint. I was very happy with the finished product. I don't have pics of our menus

Bakery-- Campbells Bakery A-
Campbell's was the in-house baker for CLM. I printed a few pics for inspiration and we finalized a design. Our guests raved about the cake and it came out beautifully.

Numas Florist—B
Miguel was very accommodating. We initially walked in w/o an appt and he sat us down & went over ideas. Numas saved us a lot of money and even threw stuff in @ no charge! The centerpieces & the BOK came out amazing. I think the only thing I would have changed is that the BOK’s be a little fuller. We also ordered an arch which came out amazing!!

Bridal Hangers- A
My 1st attempt at buying my own hanger was a bust. Not sure what exactly happened but I never received the product. Thankfully I hadn’t paid yet.
My 2nd attempt-I bought hangers for my girls b/c an Etsy vendor was running a sale. I used Etsy seller-grinsngiggles12 My girls hangers came out beautiful and she was very affordable. I tried to add on a bride hanger after my first failed attempt but it got lost in translation and she closed shop thereafter.
My 3rd attempt- I got my bride hanger from Etsy seller-SignatureHangers: She was resonably priced and product shipped fairly quickly.

Gina Esposito-(pending album)
Gina was professional and on time. Whenever I had a question, she always responded quickly. We ended up taking pictures for our reveal at Arygle park on a 38 degree day. Gina braved the elements along with us and for that I’m thankful!!
My only advice to you ladies is allow plenty of time for pics. I feel like the day was rushed and some “extra” pictures were missed unfortunately. Make sure you also have a must take list and put someone in charge if you don’t have a DOC. Be very specific about what types of pictures you want and make sure you let someone else know bc the day goes super fast and you won’t remember everything. I forgot to add a family picture to my list which was my own fault and it was missed ?

Unlimited Entertainment—A-
Eddie & Ryan are such sweethearts. They were always very responsive throughout the entire process. I gave them a list of genres that we loved and songs we wanted them to play. My only issue was that I felt the MC could have gotten the crowd more energized. People were dancing but I felt it could have been packed more.

Courtyard Marriott @ Farmingdale- A Randy was amazing & easy to work with. I made the appt to see the hotel and she gave me a tour of all the rooms & answered my questions. They offer a free shuttle if you book 10 or more rooms and there is no deposit required like other hotels. Rooms were clean and the staff is super nice.

All Star Limos—A
We did not have an appt but were in the area so they very accommodating. We got a tour of their amazing facilities. They had their own car wash & mechanics on hand which was very impressive. The limo was clean and on time. Unfortunately, I never caught the drivers name or got a picture of the limo

Capriccio Ensemble—A
We won a solo violinist for TWOTY from LIW. Natalie was awesome to work with. Even before I had a chance to contact her about winning the prize, I already had an email in my inbox!!! She was very helpful and quickly responded to emails. Natalie was amazing. The violinist added a nice personal touch to the ceremony.

Bridal World—A-
I made about 3 appts to go dress shopping and Bridal World was the last place we tried. A friend recommended this place to me & decided to give it a try. Boy did they not disappoint! They had a huge selection. I loved so many but I had a specific idea of what I wanted. As I was getting ready to head back to the dressing room the sales rep pulled this Allure organza dress that I had to try. It looked amazing and did not compare to any of the other dresses. This dress was so flattering & I just fell in love & I said YES TO THE DRESS. Dahlia was my seamstress who did my alterations. She was a doll and my dress fit like a glove. I was worried about the bustle bc of the dress material but it looked amazing. The reason I gave an A-is bc for my pickup appt, the dress was not ready. There was some miscommunication when I had to change the appt date.

Shoes-A
I found my shoes at Nordstrom. I wasn’t going to pay a lot for shoes but I had my heart set of Badgley Mischka shoes. I shopped around and found them on sale at Nordstrom. Great buy and it was meant to be!

Bridal Elegance- B
I knew from being in other bridal parties, being a bridesmaid can get expensive. I wanted to get my girls the best price out there so I did my homework and shopped around. A fellow bride from LIW mentioned Bridal Elegance. The staff let us pick several dresses & pretty much left us alone. We all agreed on a Jasmine Belosie dress in teal and Bridal Elegance gave us the best price. Alterations were a whole other issue. I would recommend you take your dress elsewhere. I had 2 girls that decided to get their alterations there and they were treated rudely and charged full cap for a hem and small take in. One of my girls actually walked out with her dress and went to another alteration place.

Flower Girl dresses/Gifts-A
We bought the Flower girl dresses at Costco. Great buy! I DIY the flower girl tank tops (Old Navy tanks and rhinestones from Wrap with Us). For gifts, I bought both girls a Barbie bride from Century 21 dept store, a flower girl book (Wrap with Us) and peacock headbands from Claires.

Mens Warehouse Tuxes-A
My groom, dads, and groomsmen all got their tuxes from MW. It was convenient since we had a few groomsmen who lived OOT. All tuxes looked great. We had one minor issue where one groomsmen pants were too short but MW fixed it right away.

Chrissy’s Beauty Salon Hair—A++++
Chrissy is my sister and she owns her own salon in PR. I didn’t give her an A+++++ bc she is my sister but bc my hair came out amazing!! I did a hair trial where we tried 3-4 different styles. I got so many complaints on my hair and I was happy with the final product.

Makeup—A+++
My MUA was one of my fellow bridesmaids. She use to work for Sephora and does makeup on the side. My makeup came out amazing and I got so many compliments. She used mostly MAC products and my makeup was flawless and stayed on until the very next day! I highly recommend her. If you want her info. just send me FM

Hair clip: A++
The hair comb was my something borrowed from one of my fellow bridesmaids. I’m not sure of the brand name but the hair comb was gorgeous.

NY Facebooth—A+++
We purchased this photobooth through a Groupon deal. Jose & Peter were very accommodating and responsive from the beginning. This was a brand new company so I was a little nervous but boy did they prove me wrong. The photobooth was a huge hit with our guests and served as our favors.

Bridal Styles by Jacqueline-A+++++
I booked Jacqueline in 2011 based on a recommendation from a friend. She was such a sweetheart and her prices were very reasonable. She is very talented and books up fast. All of my bridesmaids were pleased with their hair.

Tania-Makeup-A-
Tania was on time & a pleasure work with. 3 of my bridesmaids booked with Tania.

**All pics are from Gina Esposito Photgraphy w/ the exception of the pics that have the date stamp which are non-professional pics.
