Thursday Wedding: is it too inconvenient???

My FH and I have been contemplating having a wedding on the Thursday evening right before Labor Day weekend 2016. We choose this day for a number of reasons including my FH is seventh day adventist so that rules out Friday evening and Saturday afternoon. I've always envisioned a Sunday wedding with him but either the price is much higher than I'd like or the date is already taken.

My only problem is that a Thursday wedding may be inconvenient for those who have to work and may be forced to take a vacation day or two, especially those who have to travel from out of town. I thought by giving my guests a 9 month notice, that should be good enough.

Please let me know how you brides feel about this?

Re: Thursday Wedding: is it too inconvenient???

Dear Kahilah,
We did many Thursday weddings in 2015 and there was no problem. As long as you let your guests know in advance and you do not schedule the reception too late.

I am enclosing information from our recent blog concerning wedding music - I have heard from many brides whose friends did not get the music they chose for their wedding.

HOW CAN IT BE YOUR WEDDING IF YOUR SONGS AREN’T PLAYED?

I have heard from many brides whose friends did not get their requested songs played at their wedding

STAN WIEST DJ MC ENTERTAINMENT

Our Philosophy is that this is YOUR wedding so we play YOUR songs.

There is no limited song list to choose from.

You make up the song list for your wedding.

Of course we are always here to help you when you need some advice or guidance with selections.

Our DJ’s are there to do what you want throughout the function.
We also request a DO NOT PLAY LIST for the songs you never want played.

Remember –YOUR WEDDING – YOUR SONGS -YOUR DREAM

Re: Thursday Wedding: is it too inconvenient???

Hi and congratulations!

I am with Stan on this. I had a wedding almost every Thursday this season and they were all very well attended. As a guest, if I am going to take the day after off... I'd be much happier taking off a Friday than a Monday. With the holiday already on Monday it gives the out of towners more time to see family and friends, rather than just flying in and out.

Wishing you both all the happiness that two people can stand in one lifetime, with many healthy years to enjoy it all.

Thursday Wedding: is it too inconvenient???

I'm late on this but I'm contemplating having my wedding anywhere from Sunday through Thursday. Since you give people more than enough time, they can take the day off. And the way I see it, if they can't, then even better for us because it will help us with keeping costs down.

Re: Thursday Wedding: is it too inconvenient???

exactly. We already booked for a Thursday. I've informed most people about the date already. We're sending save the dates in a couple weeks which will give people 7 months to plan ahead. :)

Good Luck!
