The Setup

It was the Monday after Chanukah and before Christmas. Dave had a great plan...he knew how much I loved hot air balloons. He had this idea of creating one out of a basket and a helium balloon and calling me to the Northport Harbor to propose. His idea was to have the ring in the basket. Since I had no idea he was planning this, I made plans with my mother to shop for the day.

My beautiful engagement ring...

Dave couldn't wait, so instead, he came home with a dozen roses and a gift wrapped for me. It was wrapped with silver paper and had blue garland on one corner with dreidles and stars hanging off of it and in the other corner, he designed holly with green metalic leaves and a mini red bow. He told me he got me something...no big deal, but he thought I might want to wear it on Christmas. I did not even expect it to be THE RING, since he didn't propose during our Chanukah party -- with the entire family there! (I was a bit disappointed that night! LOL!)

I opened the beautifully wrapped gift and began to cry...it was the ring I designed when I was playing online 2 years ago! He remembered it!! A princess cut for my princess...he told me!
