When? Back in 1999

Where? At a mutual friend's party

Sean and I met 6 years ago, back in 1999. I was dating one of his best friends at the time. Though he was also dating someone else, we became acquaintances over the years. We never saw each other often; I was away at school, he was home in another relationship. For the majority of the time we had known each other, we had always been involved with other people. We didn't know much about each other, but we enjoyed each other's company.

Slightly over a year ago, we crossed each other's paths at a friend's birthday party in mid-October. I had been single for the year prior and he was looking at the end of his most recent relationship. With the help of a few drinks, we engaged ourselves in a converstaion that we still laugh about today. That night, was the night that everything changed. All of a sudden we started to look at each other differently. He ended his relationship and we started to talk more. We exchanged phone numbers and screen names, and before we knew it, we were hanging out more often.

At the beginning of March this year, my parents went away and I threw a huge party at my house. Naturally I invited Sean. He was down in the dumps about his recent breakup and had considered not going, but he convinced himself that maybe having a good time would cheer him up. At this point, I was already interested in him, but feared that he didn't have reciprocating feelings. Little did I know, he was going through the same thing I was. By the end of the night, with some aggressive flirting on my part (which isn't normal for me), we starting have an indepth converstaion, which led to our first kiss. It was the most amazing moment of my life. We started dating soon after that and its been absolutely wonderful ever since. Who would have thought, that we would ever get together after knowing each other for so long.? Apparently we didn't! Our story just goes to show that love often surprises you...sometimes, its right under your nose!
