We found this studio through Groupon and I'm so glad we picked this studio when there are so many out there! They have 1 studio in Forest Hills and 1 in Mineola, and we mainly had our private lessons in the Mineola location since we live in Long Island. The studio is bright, huge, and clean, and we really enjoyed each of our lessons. My husband and I don't have dance backgrounds at all, but under our instructor, Kyle's patient guidance, we already got the basics in our first dance lesson! My husband and I felt so comfortable with Kyle's teaching that we scheduled our next lesson right after class. Kyle has martial arts background, and therefore, he has lots of "tricks" that can help us perfect the more advanced dance moves such as dip and lift. We only took 6 lessons total, but everyone was amazed at our first dance and how much we could achieve in such a short period of time. The best thing is Kyle taught us variation of steps, so whatever we learned can also be applied on any other ballads, unlike choreographed dance that can only be used on that certain song. We also wouldn't have to worry about missing a step because it can be easily fixed since we know the basics. The studio also has variation of skirts that they will provide you to wear in your last 1-2 lessons, so you can get a sense of how it would feel like during your first dance on your wedding day. We had a really memorable wedding and I believe our first dance is definitely one of the reasons that made the wedding special. I will definitely recommend Dance Reverie to any couples that are getting married.

My husband and I were a little nervous about our first dance and thought it might be fun to take a few lessons to prepare for our wedding. We decided to try Dance Reverie after reading their great reviews and were not disappointed. Cari was great to work with - she was super flexible with scheduling and really made the whole experience fun instead of intimidating. Cari kept the whole thing really fun and gave us a routine that was easy to learn and worked great with the song we picked - even after our wedding we still talk about going back for more classes!

We found Dance Reverie when we decided to choreograph a dance for our wedding. I'm not a good dancer. It's impossible for me to pick up a beat, I can be pretty stiff, and I have barely any rhythm. My fiance's taken dance before but nothing that we could use at the wedding; nevertheless, we needed a lot of help. I don't know how she did it but Kari really helped turn that around. Let me start by saying that she is an incredible instructor and that there aren't enough kind words to describe the exceptional lessons we received. From group lessons to private, we always felt like they were working their hardest to make sure we were getting the most out of our lesson and progressing. Kyle would also assist in our lessons and took every opportunity to help us improve our dance. I really dislike dancing but I didn't mind it at all. Our first dance is a combination of Tango/Swing and I feel like we know enough of both that we can use either of them for songs other than the first dance. We're interested in coming back after the wedding is over to try some of the other group classes and we highly recommend them to anyone interested in learning to dance.

My fiancee and I found Dance Reverie on Groupon and decided to give it a whirl with only a few weeks left before our wedding. I was a bit nervous to begin with- I am not much of a dancer and wasn't sure how much we could actually learn in only a few lessons. Cue dance instructor Kyle. Kyle assessed out skills quickly and pushed us, but only ever gently and with encouragement. We never felt overwhelmed and were surprised how quickly our dancing skills progressed. After four lessons and some practice at home, we had developed a full routine that will look great at our wedding. The facility is clean and comfortable, even in the sweltering days of summer. The sound system is great and we appreciated trying our dance steps to other songs just to see how versatile the dance is. We felt that the other instructors also took a vested interested in our progress even though Kyle was our instructor. We recommend Dance Reverie to anyone looking to learn how to dance but especially for couples looking for a supportive environment to learn a classy dance for their wedding.

We started working with Kari literally ten days before our wedding using a groupon package and she was amazing. She was extremely talented and made us feel comfortable and relaxed by transferring her confidence. She helped us choreograph a beautiful dance that was elegant even though we were both beginners. I just have to convince my husband to go back for fun.
