Photo/Video that is reasonable

OK. in short it looks like we will be driving to LI this weekend as a last minute 'trip.' I keep telling Chris that I *really* think that we need to check out a photographer/videographer since they are the next ones to book up...he finally just agreed with me. I will be taking a new job next week and don't know my next chance to come down....so?! Anyways, I would like to spend absolutely no more, for a video and photo package, than 3000 and would prefer the 2500 range actually. Now, I would be willing to wait with an album and such until after the wedding is passed just because our budget is tight. So far I have Ziba Film, Eric's Photos and Patken...can anyone recommend anyone else? I would really appreciate anything you could advise me on! Thanks to everyone in advance! Nancy

Thanks! I think I did look at his site before. I tried to send a message through the webpage and some error came up. Was his prices in my range? I am guessing since you suggested but I just wanted to make sure! Nancy

We did't speak to him about video, but did look at his photos and like the work. Pricing was in line with all that we looked at when you mixed and matched elements to come up with comparable packages. I think he can probably do something within your range. He's worth taking a look.

Personality. The photographer will be with us for several hours and Fi and Eric were joking around. Fi hates to get his picture taken and I thought he'd be more relaxed around someone he could joke with. Also, when we met with Hal Lyman, we were meeting with him, but not the photographer we would be working with. Another big factor was that Erics photos looked good with out fantastic Martha-Stewart type backgrounds. Hal Lyman showed us setting that looked like English estates, farms with horses, pumpkins and barns, etc. We're not going to have those great settnigs and I realized later that I was drawn to these great scenes, but couldn't remember the people - in Erics photos, I liked them but can't remember the background - so I must have liked the way he captured the people. We also liked the quality of his albums best and he was very accomodating about meeting us on a Friday evening since we were coming from out of town.

Karen, I can only say perfect....you know that my time is limited and that I want 'us* to be captured and not a scene that makes us look like something. Hard to describe, but I understand what you mean! Great insight and my FI absolutely despises pictures as well...lol! I hope Eric's photos will be helpful because I will only have all of Sat, Sun, and half of Monday. I will be calling tomorrow...do you mind if I use you as a referal??? Nancy

Nancy; Feel free to use me as a referral. I can tell you that he is busy Saturday during the day - shooting our wedding!!! He was extremely accomodating to us - we got caught in terrible traffic on a Friday night and could not make our appointment time. He met with us after he finished another appointment - at 9:00 that night! We really appreciated it. Our DJ (Spin Around Sound) did the same - meeting with us early on a Sunday - Father's Day - because our schedule was tight. Good Luck!

Hi, yeah I have spoken with them a couple of times. I first spoke to them a couple of months ago, and recently they still remembered me. I have an appointment with them on June 4th. I never spoke to a man though, just the wife. I'll keep you updated!
